A freakin’ groundhog climbed a 2’ fence and wiped out 1/3 of my garden.

It was digging another hole in an area out back that has some storage. Flooded him out and threw more stones in the entrance after filling the hole up with the sand and flooded it more.

We ate a bell pepper out of our garden boxes last night... tasted great but the walls were paper thin and the white membrane inside was most of the weight. Is that a water problem?

we're having a problem with low pollination this year. zukes and green beans are not getting pollinated well. very low yields.
Lazy bees! I see them on the parsley flowers, but they aren't getting the job done.

it's hot this year. been through a couple of heat waves already.

Slackers!
May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'harvestsaywy.com harvestsav .com Did you know? In 1985, Charles Wilber from Alabama set a world record by growing his tomato plants over 3 stories tall. One plant had nearly 400 pounds of tomatoes on it, and the cherry tomatoes weighed almost 2 1/2 pounds each!'

Having to give up on my main plot (10'X12') outside my fence. After 20 + years, its productivity dipped tremendously. I suspect the bad nematodes based on the nodules on the roots. Waiting for the Garlic to finish, then spray with neme oil stuff, plow it up, more neme oil, and cover with black plastic, and cook it. Moved to  pots in the meantime. All inside my fence, which is more convenient access, and saves me from having to put clothes on.

Had a few tomatoes, but the heat is already curtailed further production. Peppers been pretty good and a lone eggplant. Some very short stemmed cucumber plants doing pretty well. Herbs like Rosemary/Oregano/Sage/Thyme do well as usual. Squash was a bust, as usual. squash vine borers know how to find them. I thought maybe it would be ok in a giant pot with Oregano, but nope.

I but up shade cloth on one side, because the heat gonna kill everything. Just got to keep it limping thru the next couple months and hopefully make it to Fall time.

Finally got some of my tomato plants transplanted into the garden.  Will be getting more plants in on Sunday since it’s raining today.

It’s going to be a sunny and warm upcoming week so I’ll be able to till the garden. Didn’t have one to speak of last year for the first time in decades. I hope things go smoothly this year.

I'll get a photo tomorrow when I go out to pick before the birds eat them all. might have enough to make a small batch of jam.
the garlic is starting to send up scapes. should be ready in 4 weeks.

how is everyone's garden this year?

We really don't have one. Our backyard is being turned into a wildflower meadow. Alison did buy one tomato plant to put on the patio. our serviceberries are trees. Three of them around our front patio (put in since you guys were here). We also have a sour cherry tree in the front yard.
