It was abandoned as a programming resource about a decade before it went away entirely. And if you're really enthusiastic about a song or artist and just *know* it's going to be popular on RP and it gets rejected well then you shuffle off, kick rocks, and rethink your life choices.

It took me a long time to lose the desire to try to steer the programming here. Going to see The Orb in Belfast next month and I wouldn't have had any inkling that I would want to if RP hewed closer to my tastes.

Sad to see that evidently the ability to suggest songs has been disabled. :( This is definitely one the RP should put into rotation:

Alison Brown & Steve Martin - Dear Time (feat. Jackson Browne with Jeff Hanna)

Hello,

I'm from Slovenia and I listen to RP regularly. Every day, mostly ethno music.

My brother Tadej has been a musician all his life. He is the composer of both music and lyrics. He is also the brainchild of the video spots ' production :o). His music with the band Folk Idoli is especially loved by younger listeners. He mostly composes ballads with a rock touch. I am very proud of him and I would like the wider world to hear him.

I attach some video clips. Maybe you can include one in your programme.

Thank you for the good music and best regards,
Teja Prosenc

Hiya!
I would love to suggest this song but have no idea how to upload/add to the LRC, if that is even still a thing. Anyway, this is such a cool piece of work - it's a subtle groove that really cooks along. You've probably heard it. Our little independent radio station (WRHQ) played it this morning and I actually remembered to post it on RP. I thought it was new-ish but no. It's from 1994.
Have a good'n yall.

Hey everybody. We'll be revamping the whole submissions system sometime soon. Scott is right that it's a bit of a ghost town over there at the moment.

Browsed the site throughout, thought I was blind not finding the link.

Finally found the link from browser history c.a. middle 2020, and it's  404->main redirect.

And then I found this post from 6 months ago.

That is all.

It doesn't seem to be back, yet. Do you have an ETA?

I think that is the only joke submission I've made. I always try my best to fill all fields so that Bill and Rebecca wouldn't have to look for them. I don't want to waste their time for stupid submissions. Before the system was taken down I submitted new songs mainly. I had my own rule on what constituted as new. Everything released this and the previous year. So on last day of 2021, anything released in 2021 or 2020 would be new. On the first day of 2022, anything released in 2022 or 2021 would be new. Then I started looking for Ukrainian music because of what is happening there. Something positive to come out of this would be if we were all a bit more knowledgeable of the music created there and maybe something was even added to the playlist. A sort of RP way of showing support. So until the new system is up, here is Ukrainian indie rock.

Not bad; it sounds pretty good for 1998. ...that album art reminds me of something I can't place right now.

If that were a reason... Bill would've killed this station years ago because of all the smart alecks about.

Settle down, Beavis. I was just saying that the Submissions link (which used to be under the "Music" tab at the top of every page), is gone now. You wouldn't know that and I'm not impugning your divination skills, just trying to spin it as maybe Bill saw your post and took away the Submissions link so that no one else would have that problem. But you found a less common way in; I suspect he'll fix that quickly if he sees this.

Saying a website or page is "under construction" is vastly worse than just removing all hints of it until it's ready to go live, IMO. Put a blurb in that FAQ that submissions are on hiatus, but again I'm surmising but I have a hunch that the new system is not a smoking hot priority that's "coming soon" so to have an "under construction" page for 6 months is going to disappoint anyone who checks back repeatedly.

"A blurb in that FAQ that submissions are on hiatus" would be perfect.

I started at https://radioparadise.com/home. Clicked FAQ, which took me to https://radioparadise.com/info... . Then clicked the link for "Submissions," ( https://www.radioparadise.com/music/submissions/submit,) which redirected me back to the home page.
Even if it took me to the "Your favorites" page, I would still wonder if RP was no longer taking submissions.
You seem to be saying that there used to be a more prominent submissions link, which was taken away, and that I should have know that submissions weren't working because the submissions link was missing. But I've been away from Paradise for a while, so I didn't remember where the submissions link used to be.
And had I realized that the submissions link was taken away, my assumption would still be that RP was no longer accepting submissions.
I think an "Under construction" submissions page would be good. I told a musician to submit her stuff to RP, and I would feel bad if she wasted her time searching around for a "Submissions" link.
