I use these Alpine plugs which are popular with musicians: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-Hearing-Protection-MusicSafe-Classic/dp/B0032BYCWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435083247&sr=8-1&keywords=musicians+ear+plugsBut for optimal protection, the best is a cheapo pair of foam plugs...just make sure you insert correctly.

I have significant tinnitus—I blame Keith Richards  — actually far too many live concerts at which I disregarded sound protection. And headphones while in an altered state. Even an acoustic orchestra can be painful to me now.

Because they've blown their ears out and are so self centered they don't realize the rest of the world can hear. Hearos.
