Yes, thank you. She married her brother so he could get in not the other way around. That is the part that has been misstated, or conflated or what ever.
This first came up when the Squad arrived in Congress and were heavily scrutinized across the board. That Omar would break an immigration law and still be in Congress and Constitutionally responsible for the very law(s) she willfully violated. Her integrity and direct conflict of interest in regards to defending the country and its laws which is the primary purpose of her office, can rightfully be questioned.
The issue was dropped and lost in the news cycle 5 years ago. I waited a day before I went back to read this chain from the beginning to try and figure where it went off the tracks and how to respond.
The initial challenge to me was simply did she marry or not her brother, not why. Then came the why which was not on the actual post here. You had to dig deeper to see that. The why is definitely wrong. It was indeed him and not her. So if that is an actual quote in the tweet then Trump is wrong, close but wrong. He needs to drop this from his repertoire STAT because people will fixate on it because it is easy to disprove.
This is a big issue for Omar though and if true, she can be stripped of her citizenship and be deported for immigration fraud if for no other reason. She has not provided any details about who her siblings are keeping that information hidden, which only feeds to frenzy.
With all the other things circling her now with the welfare fraud just uncovered, she is going to have to do a lot of explaining of a whole bunch of things and naming her family members may be part of that too, simply for establishing business connections for conflicts of interest.
Yes, however in the case of immigration fraud, family is still family if they are all directly related by blood at the very least somehow. And then try to deny that it is not a marriage of convenience.
Omar was elected to Congress 6 years ago (during the first Trump administration). The accusation was dropped from the news cycle because it wasn't true, at least as far as anyone can prove. If ICE could even credibly accuse her of it (let alone prove it) she would be in prison right now, and her ex-husband would be in a for-profit gulag in some very hostile country.
Trump could drop this lie and pivot to some other lie, but what's the point? It's connecting with his base. It gets applause. It distracts from his many other crimes. It resonates with people like you because you want it to be true—like Haitians eating the dogs and cats, like $1.99 gas, like any of thousands of other lies.
Ok so Rump lovers go back years to dig up ANY shady dealings of King Clown's adversaries but pay zero attention to Junior Rump's crypto crockery (maybe some of these ignorant supporters have bought shiny trinkets from the First Family of criminal frauds, DJT Jr. price today = $0.000035 USD cha-ching )
...Trump is wrong, close but wrong. He needs to drop this from his repertoire STAT because people will fixate on it because it is easy to disprove.

I appreciate your admission.
Your clarity on crime and punishment for something that happened 25 years ago is astonishing given your willingness to forgive, ignore, or excuse all of the Trump transgressions that have occurred since 2000.
Deporting a person elected to represent 700,000 citizens, by those citizens, is an interesting strategy and use of resources. Good thing all of the important issues are resolved.
If Omar did become a citizen under these circumstances you illustrated above, I will recognize that neither of her marriages were for the purpose of gaining citizenship. Given all of the other problems she does face this one is the least of her problems and with that, the schtick about her marriages needs to be dropped. As with Trump, there are enough things to talk about her without having to make things up.
I may well be wrong but as far as I understand it she married her brother so that he could stay in the USA - not so that she could stay. She was already in, so to speak, but for him to be able to stay she married him so that he could remain by virtue of being married to a citizen. That's what I understand to be the actual issue here.
Either way, it's fraud.

Also, in a culture where cousins regularly marry cousins etc the term brother might mean a brother from another mother or father or something.....perhaps not brother as in same father same mother.... I watched a very interesting interview with a UK based national health-type who was talking about, amongst other things, how the common practice of, particularly Pakistanis but not excluding other Muslims, first cousins marrying and breeding with each other has created a significant increase in observed genetic disorders including but not limited to seriously low IQ in offspring from such unions. In Muslim culture this inbreeding is not uncommon.
I know a family of which the parents of the father were first cousin immigrants and he has an older sister with some impairments and a second daughter with pretty severe impairment.

Do you really believe everything you read in wiki ? To me at least, it is a starting point, not an end point.
A) Apologize ? For what ? Something that I honestly believed to be true ? I did not post that thought with the intention of misleading anyone as you claim. I did not bring it up either. I answered a question asked of me.
This charge was not something new to me. I heard it years ago and actually did some serious digging then and found nothing to change my mind about it. Today, in the exchange that occurred here, I did learn something that did change my mind on the subject and even acknowledged it. Not good enough for you, eh ?
So I guess that you stand outside of churches and demand apologies from the congregation for believing something that you do not. What a guy you are. You ride a big high horse.
B) Falling for it.
As if you didn't fall for all the lies about Biden being fully physically and mentally able to be POTUS for openers. You didn't fall for the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax with the golden showers and all, or the Biden laptop hoax either, did ya ? I remember when you finally admitted to the laptop hoax when the NYT admitted the same. Two years later when it didn't matter during the election, just only as getting the record straight. Until the NYT told you it wasn't real you thought otherwise. Did you apologize for being deceived then ? I sure do not recall one.
And as usual, you accuse me of being an Islamophobic, xenophobic racist to close your argument.
So how about you go and stand in front of a Mosque and demand the congregation to apologize for their beliefs and see what happens to you. To them, you truly are an Infidel.
A: It took 30 seconds of googling to answer the accusation you made from the same government website you quoted from. Wikipedia has sources, you can read them. And in this case, quite accurate.
B: Um...you must be confusing me with someone else. And even if every word if your accusation about me were true it wouldn't excuse your own behavior, but it seems your memory is a bad as Biden's. Or Trump's, for that matter. Both senile old men waaay out of their depth, but I dgress.
Go reread my criticism. I didn't accuse you of bigotry (tho that wouldn't be an outrageous conclusion from your post), I accused the people you trusted of bigotry, I criticized you for not questioning them, and I'm extending that criticism (which I'd be happy to retract given evidence) for continuing to trust them when they've obviously lied to and manipulated you.
It's hard to engage Muslims in conversations about their faithâthey live in well-founded fear that religious bigots will try to persecute them and drive them from their homes, so they don't engage easilyâbut I've done it. You should try it. Instead of trusting people who have lied to you over and over about what Muslims believe and what they want, you should ask them yourself.
No, not some quote mined by a bigot from the worst example he could find, talk to some actual human beings. They make up about an eighth of the world's population and you have the internet, they aren't that hard to find. If it's important enough to make you think vile things about your fellow man it ought to be important enough to verify for yourself.

A) So drop it. Better yet, apologize for spreading it. The whole MAGA narrative on her never made a lick of sense—not factually, not legally, not even chronologically.
B) You have no excuse for falling for it, but you (second person plural you) need to hold the people who lied to you about this (and continue to lie to you about it) to account. Attack her politics all you like, there's plenty there. But her politics isn't the focus of MAGA's rage at her: she's a black Muslim immigrant woman. She checks all the boxes.—she must be destroyed by any means necessary. It's shameful, as is your part in it.

Omar was born (as far as Somali records show) on October 2, 1982. She would have been eligible to apply for citizenship on her own in 2000, but it appears her parents' naturalization that same year made that unnecessary. Yes, there is a thick cloud of BS surrounding Omar's citizenship—MAGA is talking about immigration, after all—but you don't get to obfuscate and complain about a lack of clarity.
If Omar did become a citizen under these circumstances you illustrated above, I will recognize that neither of her marriages were for the purpose of gaining citizenship.

There is so much bs surrounding her as in a mass coordinated coverup. There is no statement or proof that the man in question is not her brother other than anecdotal information.
The child may be a U.S. citizen if ALL these things are, or were, true at the same time:
The child is under 18 years old.
The child is a legal permanent resident of the U.S. (has a green card).
At least one of the parents is a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization.
If that parent is the father but not married to the other parent, talk
to an immigration lawyer because you may need more proof.
The citizen parent is the biological parent of the child or has legally
adopted the child. A step-parent relationship is not enough for derived
citizenship. Talk to a lawyer if the citizenship is for an adopted
child because there are special rules about this.
The citizen parent has shared or sole legal and physical custody of the child and is living in the U.S.
If these things are all true, your child automatically becomes a U.S.
citizen in most cases. Even if your child is now over 18, if all 5
things were true when they were under 18, your child probably became a
U.S. citizen automatically. But you need to get proof of citizenship. You can do this by getting a certificate of citizenship or a passport book or passport card.
Note: If the âchildâ was born before February 27, 1983, other rules may apply. Talk to an immigration lawyer.

So by this logic, we can definitively say there is no proof Trump did not have sex with his mother, so we can call him a Mo.... ........
There is so much bs surrounding her as in a mass coordinated coverup. There is no statement or proof that the man in question is not her brother other than anecdotal information.
There has never been any proof to substantiate that rumor of her marrying her brother. She was likely 18 when she became a citizen - she was born in 1982 and reportedly became a citizen in 2000; perhaps she applied before then. The man she married (her alleged brother) is three years younger than she is, and her mother died when Omar was 2.
Not sure why it's worth bickering over one lie out of tens of thousands, from a man who lies several dozen times every day.
There is so much bs surrounding her as in a mass coordinated coverup. There is no statement or proof that the man in question is not her brother other than anecdotal information.
She married her brother in order to get in. Can you imagine if Trump married his sister? She is here illegally. Throw her the hell out.
Putting aside, for the moment, the truth of the allegation that she married her brother, Trump alleges that she married her brother to âget inâ the country, implying she committed immigration fraud. He claims she is here illegally.
The facts:
Omarâs family came here in 1995 and were granted asylum. Omar became a citizen in 2000, when she was 17. She was not married at that time,
Also, it is likely that Trump's wife is here with a flavor of immigration fraud as well.
Aside from the claim that every little boat destroyed in international waters (I think 23 so far), which may have been carrying cocaine (not fentanyl or heroin), would be responsible for 25,000 overdose deaths in the US, when last year, an estimated total of 20,000 overdose deaths related to cocaine (usually mixed with fentanyl or amphetamines) occurred in the US. His number would be over five times the total overdose deaths, from all drugs, in the US per year.
Just last week he reduced drug prices 500%, 600%, 700% !
