FLASHBACK: Transhumanist billionaire and Pentagon contractor Elon Musk is delivering his usual talking points about how AI and humanoid robots — two technologies heâs heavily involved with — will usher in an era of âamazing abundanceâ and âsaturate all human needsâ when Larry Fink interrupts to ask:
âBut how do you then have human purpose in that scenario?â
"Yeah, the— I mean, you know, thereâs— nothing, nothingâs perfect, you know?â Musk stammers before returning to his sales pitch.
Well this confuses me. Sounds like he is calling for guaranteed annual income. Not exactly a republican stance. DODGE cut federal support for the poor and middle class.
But why is the government issuing the cheques? Where is it getting the money from when his class is getting almost all of the benefit from AI but almost completely avoiding taxes. The only way his solution works is to tax the rich.
You missed the subtlety. Universal HIGH income... Only for the rich, the poors can suck it. Heck, it would probably only be for himself, but he knows he won't get the other billionaires in line unless they all have access to the government till.

I used to work with a bunch of tech bros. They were generally insufferable. Now and then, one would show up on Monday morning with a nice black eye or other evidence of a skirmish. In their telling, they always were the victor (and the victim), but it was nice to know that some one had enough of their shit to act on the word 'punchable' in their description.
