Kavalier & Clay was overall pretty great but when he does sex scenes they careen quickly to too graphic. IIRC. I stopped reading Telegraph Avenue when he was still introducing major characters more than a third of the way in. But a friend just told me to suck it up because he brings it all together and it's one of her favorite books, so I guess I need to give it another go. I didn't read The Wonder Boys but watched the movie several times.

I highly recommend Chabon in general, and these books in particular (his short story collection "Werewolves In Their Youth", and "Gentlemen Of the Road", as well. perhaps he can afford to buy a comb now
