I'm not sure if banned is entirely accurate. Up until now the convention for the truly well over the line offensive posters (like our old friend Mark for instance) has been to put a "DD " in front of their user name and immediately delete all their forum posts and song comments. RT's account, like several others who seem to have left of their own accord, has been changed to "(former member)". In the later cases their posts may or may not be deleted but are often difficult to find as they get confused with all the other other "(former member)"s. Romeo's MO was more to try to come as close to the line as he could yet not go too far over and still be as annoying as possible. Hopefully he has lost interest in us and will not be back. He had put himself in self exile in the journals for a little while before his last little fling. He/she may just be revamping their act before rejoining us in a new package though.

'Lily' is on track. Best let this thread die. I never read anything untoward from Romeo, but I'm not on here every day of the week. Bill and Rebecca have laid out clear expectations for this site, and I'm supportive in their right to "ban" whomever for whatever reason. Collectively, we seem to be a pretty intelligent bunch with a shared taste of music. So eventually, wouldn't/shouldn't the riff-raff get kicked to the curb? Or just leave? Anyway ... I'm done with this thread. /M.

another exercise of freedom is to allow someone enough rope to hang themselves. You're right, Kurtster. The social paradigm often confuses me. We need to be mindful of our fear of words and the intolerance of our peers. At least we no longer burn people for crossing the line. We just cast them down and out to get that warm fuzzy feeling of seeming better than they are... more civilized or something.
