All aboard! Hahaha

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe. it's not too late
To learn how to love, and forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

I've listened to preachers,
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words, yeah, yeah

Heirs of a cold war,
that's what we've become
Inheriting troubles,
I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train
I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

Dunno if anyone else here loves good mashups, but here's a killer one of Crazy Train and EW&F's September by DJ Cummerbund. I know how crazy that sounds but it works better than it has any right to (Cummerbund deserves credit for some clever production there).
Instant headache!
I've often wanted to sneak the words to this song into a church setting, like a prayer group or a reading at Mass, and see if anybody knew it was Ozzy. Hehehe.

The last year of the 80s was 30 years ago.
One of the quintessential rock guitar albums of the 80s. And unexpectedly, an Ozzy tune with a disco beat!
Ozzy scared the hell out of me when I was a kid, but now, looking at the album cover he just looks like a doofus. Sweet guitar on this one of course. The rest - meh.
Wow. I never get tired of being surprised listening to RP.
...and I don't care if this song got overplayed in the 80s. Good music will always be good music. Thanks.

Awesome programming again by Master Bill: first Joe Bonamassa - Slow Train then Ozzy Osborne - Crazy Train.
For me these were two totally new songs and I enjoyed them both, especially in this order.
Why not? The song rocks. Do we need any other criteria?

Ozzy, on RP!  Totally unexpected, totally excellent.

I was just about to post exactly the same amazement, glad you did.
Can I make a few requests? How about "Over The Mountain", "Sweet Leaf", "Fairies Wear Boots", or "War Pigs"? And almost anything from the first Sabbath album.

I'm sure heads won't explode. If they do...well that's good!
Ozzy, on RP!  Totally unexpected, totally excellent.
all i see is the opening few seconds of this .

Go Bill! A nice curveball. And not overplayed (ironically) in Ozz-stralia ;).
Overplayed on terrestrial radio, but somewhat refreshing to hear it here for some reason. Perhaps b/c I don't listen to terrestrial radio anymore!

He he! I too have vivid memories of getting my ass kicked to this song. Seems like a lot of hard core Ozzy fans were major asswipes back on the day. But Rhoads was such a gift and his light was extinguished far too soon. For whatever reason his loss has always had a profound effect on me.

I suppose you must be right about this being overplayed, but where do you hang out that gives you this perspective? Have I heard this anywhere else in the past decade? No, since I am not listening to whatever sort of medium you do. Considering the tremendous number and variety of songs I have been exposed to here that are either new to me or have been submerged somewhere for a long time, griping about one song being overplayed seems to be about your listening experience only. We all listen alone, in some sense.

My thoughts exactly

How nice to hear this on RP. Nice change from all the acoustic and slow stuff!
Pure fun!

GREAT! {#Drummer}
Superb guitar playing, fun tune, lousy engineering/production. But more interesting than James Taylor. So is watching paint dry.
And all the sudden I'm right back 1990 and getting my ass kicked by sister's horrible boyfriend who was way too old to be dating her.
Haven't heard this in a million years and I am struck by much Randy Rhodes contributed to this sound, the drums and base are SO weak.

Yah, nothing wrong w/ a little Ozzy!

I hate this song. I need to go to the washroom but I won't, at least not until the song ends... I hate you Ozzy!!!

For the haters,,,its kinda like saying I only watch PBS,,,,when I watch TV.
But they do catch Honey Boo Boo secretly every now and then.

You know the haters are tapping their feet during this,,, just a bit....

Funny seeing the haters comments.  I like Ozzy, high art no fun yes.  Ozzy generally is spot on or off to who know where.  He is spot on on this  album.  He knows generally how to put together a good band.
Rock is Dead?
Love the comments this song elicits, too funny.

Now there's the way to start a Monday!
{#Guitarist}WHOA!!!!  Lest we forgot our hard rockers...
good song to identify those that care more about labels than music

Totally agree, Randy make the most of Ozzy's sound, the Tribute album has a nicer live version of this one,

Me Three. JFC this was tiresome when it came out, great guitar work or not (and frankly it's always sounded like a lot of screeching and wailing to me).

Ozzy's always teetered on the edge of self-parody with his Satanic Madman schtick. This Top-40 hairball for the high school kids is a lowpoint. I'd rather watch Ozzy mutter about the dookies on the carpet than listen to this again.
Seriously??  Get the train theme, but what is next Aeorsmith - Train Kept a Rollin?

I've always loved this song. RIP Randy Rhoads

HAhahaha love it. the following says it all :)

"Our specialty is taking a diverse assortment of songs and making them flow together in a way that makes sense harmonically, rhythmically, and lyrically — an art that, to us, is the very essence of radio."

Thanks Bill and Rebecca

Really Bill?  On RP?  Really??  (snotty comment about playing metal on RP)

Yes, really!  Granted, I was 2 when this came out, but I loved this song once I got caught up on the Ozzy catalog.  This isn't something I want to hear all the time, but every now and then it's great.  Yeah, it got played to death on the local classic rock station back home, but I'm not there anymore and don't listen to terrestrial radio if I can help it.

Evidently I'm the only person on the planet that doesn't have this song in there library, but you know what?  I don't give a shit.
Perfection.
WHAT!?  Are you serious?
I thought I was listening to "Radio Paradise"?
Total rubbish. I can't see that this has got anything at all going for it.

c'mon feel the noize!
I don't mind this song,  but after hearing at every Charger game when they kick off,  I have grown a little tired of it. lol

...pretty much nails the train theme down.

So refreshing to hear RP go out and play this ..to all the haters....change the station..
I can get into this every so often.

{#Guitarist}
Ozzy? That's funny and unexpected. I actually enjoyed this track in context.

Here's another idea for a train theme sequence: from Joe Ely, you could have played "Tuesday's Gone:" "Train roll on, on down the line,
Won't you please take me far away?"  Can you imagine the stink some listeners would've raised when they heard Skynyrd on Radio Paradise?

Not for every day, but Total Genius Call.
Really Bill?  On RP?  Really??  (snotty comment about playing metal on RP)
You've got to be kidding me. Off goes the Radio Paradise. I don't deny that Ozzy contributed something to music history but really? Please, don't play this. My support money can go to many other online stations where I don't have to listen to such crap.

Not bad for a former reality TV show personality...
I remember buying this album when I was 14 in the mall record store while my parents waited outside. When I came out and showed them what I bought, they just cracked up laughing at the cover. Much better reception than many parents gave it, I expect.
First GnR now Ozzy. Are you feelin ok?
Hell yes!

Well, that got me through the washing up with vigo(u)r.

6.6???!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blasphemey!!!!!!!! :(((((( 9 at the very least!!!!!!!!! :))))){#Dancingbanana_2}

song ranks a 9 but the volume goes to 11

Perfect song for Pep Band!
Nowhere to go from nine but ten. Thanks, Bill. I needed this today.

Yeah, Bill...  this one is OK, but it's the only one in your music library.  You might think about adding "Mr. Crowley", from the same album!  IMHO, it's even better...  the second guitar solo by Randy Rhoads is considered to be one of the best rock guitar solos EVER!

I agree, I like Sabbath but not a big fan of Ozzy. Randy Rhoads was one of the best and if we must hear this lets hear some great rock guitar.
Never thought I would hear this song on RP.  One of my favorites.  Randy Rhoads was fantastic.  {#Fire}

My thought exactly.  This track tests my tolerance beyond the limit.

I used to work at a big music store in Colorado with a guy who would often blurt out, "I'm goin' off the rails on the crazy train."
"learn how to love and forget how to hate"
