If you need me, I will run to you
And if you call me out of the blue I will run to catch you as you fall on me
And it's no surprise that you'll soon forget about me

So slow it down
Take it easy

If you want me, I will be right here
And if you love me you will notice me here

But it's no surprise that your eyse are crying my name
And it's no surprise that your eyes are seeing the same

So slow it down
Take it easy

So slow it down
Take it easy

I was in another room and heard the song- I also thought it was Xavier Rudd's song but Follow the sun never came so I went to look. Surprise  Almost same style between the two songs. Many artists think they have an original but somewhere something stuck from another song.

Thank you.

Anyone with an idea how to get one Bill plays on RP?

It's from his 2010 No Surprise single/EP. It's available on Spotify.
Very wonderful composition

The CD (that I first discovered here on RP) contains the original version of "No Surprise" and is absolutely stellar (Turning Down Water for Air). I have the CD in the player of my car and whenever I'm driving around my California homestead and need a lift, or just a musical complement to the beauty all around me, I just press play and have the album continue from wherever it was in the track list. Never fails to raise my mood and make me feel even happier to be alive.
I have always loved this song, and I'm lucky enough to have seen him perform it to a handful of people from a tiny stage in an English village at a delightful mini festival.

Mandolin and technology... great combination.

RP played "Send Me On My Way" by Rusted Root following this tune.
Maybe based on this comment?

 Well, the interesting thing here is that Cavier Rudd released "Follow the sun" in 2012, whilst this song was released in 2009. So it's the other way 'round :P

Slow Surprise.
Heard it a hundred times here at RP (not familiar with whatever commercial it might have been in), there are 606 ratings so far... And I've never come to see who it is. I like it fine, but that sort of requires me to knock it down a peg. So 6.
it has something of "On my way", doesn't it ?

Was this song used in some advertisement?  I've only heard this song here, well, so far, anyhow.

Just go and see the artist and buy their cd on site if they are still playing small gigs. This goes straight to them. 2nd best is to buy via Bill's service and he benefits a 'tich too.

Simple yet effective tune.
Reminds me of early James Taylor but less homespun.

Whazzup with  rdo?  Sheesh............

Probably because the artist sold the right to do so because the artist needs the money because it's so hard to make a decent living writing and recording songs, unless you happen to be one of those few lucky or otherwise blessed artists connected to a major label that takes its lion's share of your flesh before giving you whatever scraps are left, which in a few cases are many because you were lucky enough to have been promoted heavily regardless of your relative talent.

BTW, I will go out of my way to avoid corporations that exploit great songs for their advertising—although that may not really be fair to the artist.

They're bigger, more predictable, and they have eyes I can see. And actually, snakes are cleaner than most humans. Yeah, they slither. I know certain villainous humans who slither even better than a snake and are a lot less personable.

The bottom line to this is: One can fit more spiders than snakes into a pit, and spiders are quicker. I'm sorry about your snake-phobia, but you're not alone. My phobia is snake-like people who slither through the system, inject their poison undetected, and live to slither another day. Animal and reptile-kind are NOT the enemy against which we should be on guard. {#Daisy}

I hear ya. It's visceral for me. Frankly, the human "snakes" do real snakes an injustice. Give me a real snake any day. . . just don't ask me to touch it.

  Another classic Cynaera song comment.  Ann, you are missed, and who would know how soon you'd "do that dance"?

I have this on my MP3 player, and it really got me through some tough times at work. I can't help but rate it a 10 - anything that saves my sanity or my life gets a ten automatically.

I love this song. It pulls my focus back to where it should be, and puts a silly grin on my face in the process.

Nine,for now, but I'm betting that the way things are going, it'll escalate to a 10 soon. Why does life have to be so hard?

brianbf1986 - too true.  I think the worst times in my life were when I didn't have music to help me get through them.  I made it, but it wasn't pretty.  I guess I just need to remind myself to sing, dance, laugh, and have music as a mainstay in my life.  Thanks for the wise words! {#Hug}
Nice tune.{#Music}

Amazon has this track for sale as a download here

And NOW I understand the previous post about the "original version" — this song is not a remake of another person's song, but rather a "remix version" of his original (of which there are several remix versions).  Alas I was exposed to this Earth Version first, so I prefer it over the original...

I'm sitting here at the end of the day grading test; this is the perfect song.
For whatever reason, I thought this was Blitzen Trapper.

started out rather nicely, got a bit too busy with the melody before the singing, but all in all it is okay.I'll reserve a rating until i hear it a few more times.
Very bland song that does absolutely nothing for me.

Reminds me of Elliot Smith, nothing wrong with that!{#Cheers}

first heard james open for M83 in san diego at the belly up - great to hear him on RP
