Kinda tedious, Musaky to me.
You people need to stop listening to this on the elevator loudspeaker - it comes together pretty solidly if you listen to that bass.
To me this is only a notch above muzak.
Muzak should be so lucky.

Houston, I dont think we have separation.
edit: and a fade-out at the end ? Amazing. That's just not done anymore on new music.
For me, it was an abrupt ending that cut short before the song was over. Maybe just a glitch in the matrix. 🤨
I applaud your musical knowledge. Khruangbin does not use samples though. I agree that on especially the Brazilian original there is similarity. But all in all I would not consider this as a cover of the previous. Maybe they took a theme from the original. Things like the flow, tempo, build up, rhythm and especially the bass are very different.
Thanks.
I know very little (don't know about scales or musical notes or vocabulary, see my inadequate use of sample) it just felt that this one bit from the Khruangbin tune sounded much like my memory of the other songs. I like their tune and was just intrigued, not trying to call them out on anything. I agree it's no cover. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and replying, at least I didn't have a hallucination :)

Very nice.
Not trying to partake in the who copied whom debate, but this sounds very much like a song by Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes, called Berimbau, which was covered by a French jazzman in 1966.
I couldn't find any information on what had been sampled but knew I'd heard it before, so this might save you the effort.
Nice take on this tune.
If interested, the French cover, and the Brazilian original.

So if y'all didn't know, these cats have a cult following that's been well earned. They have a great coming together story too. Check out some of their older stuff. Always a good groove in the background of get-togethers. -Peace 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜♫♪ヾ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)ノ♪
Driving along the coast at sunset, the sand is being blown in the air by the wind and the sea spray and this song came on and now I’m in heaven.
I think that about sums it up for me, as well.
(Don't know why I feel the need to pigeonhole it.)
