I have a great story of seeing them live in the 80's at a basketball arena and when we all stood up on the floor because they were about to start I realized everyone was only about as tall as my shoulder because they were all teens. I felt old then, being all of about 25, but the show was awesome!
The fact that they were sharing cigarettes instead of joints should have been a clue.  (closest emoji I can find to a smoking one)

I think every Cure song will eventually become a 9 for me. It seems every time they come on, I inadvertently turn the volume up. This one is no exception.

Just watched the Cure's induction (& performance) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on YouTube.  40 + years later, they still sound great. And Robert's Smith's voice sounds  unchanged. (how that's possible, I have no idea)

Growing for sure, since 1989, and new generations of singers agree, like Adele, 23 y, born 5 May 1988, English singer, plays the song Love Song (by The Cure), theme included  in their recent Albúm, a very personal and interesting version, I must say.......beautiful!.

Coolest thing about Bowie's 50th birthday bash was he invited his followers + Lou Reed.

Mr. Smith, Frank Black, Billy Corgan, etc.

It seems to be for most people here, and for many rock critics. But my favorite is the more poppy upbeat Wish. The cool thing about the Cure is their music has had enough different phases, lineups and sound configurations that many people can have different favorite Cure albums, a mark of a more interesting band exploring its own creativity, changing and growing.
