Afraid, but you will not run
Alone, thy will be done
confessed, but you still feel the shame
Bring me into your arms again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
touch these eyes with a broken smile
touch my mouth with your furrowed brow
with my heart feel my shame
Lead me into rest again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
The night is long,
but the day will come
with promises were the chosen one
Soak the sea
Sweet tastering
fall tonight into my arms again
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
Heroine
The night is long
but the day will come
with promises were the chosen one
Soak the sea
Sweet tastering
fall the night into the light of day

LOL! I was just thinking that the guitarist sure thought he was The Edge. Turns out he did, he really did!

I certainly wasn't offended by it, but come on...that's a sophmoric tactic to either get attention or make a point. Not very clever or creative. A lazy way of trying to get a reaction out of others.

I looked up the word sophomoric and got:

    soph·o·mor·ic <sof-uh-mawr-ik, -mor-> adjective
intellectually pretentious, overconfident, conceited, etc., but immature: sophomoric questions.

I think that you got it 100% correct beelzebubba

Being w/Sinead I thought I would like it but ....bleech!

Both. And considering how it reduced her career to rubble (remember when she was bigger than Madonna?), AND she has no regrets over it, I'd say it was quite a big deal.
I forgot about this song......still as beautiful as I remember.

Hmmm, from a movie soundtrack, presumably? I like the idea of an Edge solo album. It would be interesting to see what he'd come up with outside the constraints of U2.

Agreed. Like shaving one's head or hitting up folks for money outside a supermarket exit. Captive audience. She does have a nice voice however.
Eye-opener -- this combo of Sinead and the Edge. I'll look out for more combos of Edge and other folks, now. Anyone aware of any others?

Actually, schmoooz is right. "Heroine" was recorded in 1985, released in 1986, and is indeed the first widely-available track with her voice on it. "The Lion and The Cobra" wasn't released until 1987. Sinead also recorded a single called "Take My Hand" in 1983, but I don't think it received much distribution. See the timeline here: (click here)
i like sinead, but i gotta say, night cap and pillow time. :( - sorry, guys. give me sinead & asian dub foundation's '1000 mirrors' any day, or just sinead on her own, but not this.
Same with me, great college soundtrack. Great song, movie kinda sucked though. Not big on that whole Stockholm syndrome thingy.
Love this song. A great combo of Sinead's voice and the Edge's chimey guitar. The rest of the album is pretty good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this was the album that launched Sinead. U2 has a habit of finding and promoting Irish talent - Hothouse Flowers, Sinead, Clannad, Cranberries...... Their label is Mother Records. Basically they produce an album or two until they get signed by a major label. Then they probably take a percentage or two. Even Irish are capitalists.

I've respected Sinead ever since. Time will tell for the Pope tho

Great song! Obscure or not, a great collision of talent.
Excellent combination!!
I use this entire soundtrack as a meditation aide. Of course, I re-arranged all the tracks for a better flow, putting Herione as one of the last songs..... I lost my copy of this cd, so I think I'm gonna order it through RP website.....

Use to listen to this album in college several years ago. It's great to hear it again. I don't ever remember seeing the movie though...
To me this sounds like one of those songs you had to have heard in college to like. Unfortunately, I graduated eons ago.
I have this on a compilation of U2 soundtrack music. (Brian Eno has his hands on some of the tracks, if I\'m not mistaken...) Pretty good stuff, as far as soundtracks go.
Great song! Obscure or not, a great collision of talent.
I\'ve always loved this tune featuring a young and then un-recorded Sinead. I bought the L.P. for this song, but the whole (otherwise instrumental) soundtrack is wonderful.
Soundtrack music at it\'s best, a rising majesty in the instrumental against a well sung lyric.

There are a few other good (but instrumental) songs on the CD. I can upload them if people enjoy this one.
