We shared some information we might not recover from
And I watch your convictions melt like ice cubes in an ocean
You were so poorly cast as a malcontent
You've got them all on your side, that just makes more for doubt to slaughter
I never knew he thought that, I heard you say, falling out of the van
Don't ask for his opinion, they ought to drown him in holy water
Will you remember my reply when your high horse dies?
We'd like to go the distance but not a one of us is going
You see, nobody's wise enough to turn this ancient boat around
These are the muddy waters I'm swimming in to make a living
That I might drown in them should come as no surprise
You want them all on your side, that just makes more for doubt to slaughter

Don't ask for his opinion, they ought to drown him in holy water

Will you remember my reply, one finger parallel to the sky?

I just got turned onto Radio Paradise and I can't turn it off; hands down best, eclectic mix of music from all genres found anywhere.
This station and a couple of free form stations that I listen to, have made me turn away CC from commercial radio

You'll grow out of it. They're actually quite a good band.
His voice doesn't sound like Barrett's to me, but the phrasing/talking style he uses in this song sounds similar.
marvelous... love it...
This song be good... but that is just my opinion... I also believe okra helps with constipation...
Everybody in my church loves this song...
I always liked the Shins, especially after their first 2 albums. I have an embarrassing confession to make however in that I actually sold my copy of this CD before I started listening to RP. Now, hearing them regularly on RP has caused me to reach for the 10 rating for nearly every one of their songs, particularly after their most recent and truly incredible album. Which all goes to prove that Bill is a master who really knows what he is doing.
So this is the Shins, eh? Hmmm.
