yep
For some reason when I hear this I'm reminded of this...

Planet of the Apes
Some of the most evocative music ever.

{#Flamed}Scary!!!  Awesome.

How cool. This is why RP rules.

instant flashback, my dad, a NY Bell telephone lineman, evening tv time, sitting in HIS CHAIR with a Rheingold and a plate of cheese and crackers, me on his lap, rubbing his ample working class belly bulge, and at times feeling the stubble on his chin   the events of the show were beyond me then, but the music, man, that did it... probably had Marius Constant flavored nightmares
10 from me.

Brilliant, original and evocative - even if there were no TV series to go with it.
How about some Henry Mancini Pink Panther theme as a follow up
or Sturt Hamm's versions of the Charlie Brown theme song
You two never cease to amaze...
Song gets an 8...
TV show gets a 10!

Is that Shatner's real hair?  It's been so long since we've actually seen it, I'm just not sure anymore.

I think he was already wearing a piece by then.

Happy Twilight Zone day....really, you can look it up.

Love the wide range of music on this site!  (This was rather short ... got a longer version?  Please?  Pretty please?)

How cool is this? Now I want to watch a handful of episodes with a large pizza and some Coke.

Oh, I totally agree.  Harlan Ellison is one of my favorite writers.  The first thing I ever read by him was "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream."  And then came "Repent, Harlequin! Said The Tick-Tock Man," and then "The Glass Teat" and "The Other Glass Teat," and "Strange Wine," and "Medea - Harlan's World" which he wrote with, oh, I can't remember who else, in the window of a book store in L.A....  Did you ever read "Croatoa"?  About the alligators and fetuses?  THAT one gave me the willies...

I wonder if all the episodes of "The Twilight Zone" are on DVD.... Might have to invest and have a "Creep-Night."

This is absolutely PRICELESS!  Wonderful work, vandal and Baby_M~!  I'm saving this, if I can. Might have to do it once I'm not on Mars...

WHO SUBMITTED THIS???  I've got a 102-degree fever, and I hear the Twilight Zone theme... Try to imagine how freaked I am.

Still, it was fun.  Thank you, whoever submitted it. *sigh* Dang, I miss that show. I miss the edginess of it, and the way it forced people to think.

It's gonna stay at a solid 10.  My fever, on the other hand (oh, by the way, I've got another hand now - that makes three, and pretty soon, I'll be an octopus except octopuses don't have hands...) will be all over the map. Apparently, this cold is like a tornado - it goes where it wants, and nothing can stop it until it burns itself out. It will probably do damage in its wake. Please forgive me for anyone I might offend, unless I offend someone everyone WANTS offended. I am unattended in my feverdom.  Not like Stingray, who just posts whatever comes into his head, without the slob-disclaimer of "I have a fever." I love him, anyway. He's a regular RPeep and great comic-relief, and I bet he drives a little car at Mach 1 and flips everyone off. And if he doesn't, he should.

Speaking of should - I should shut up now. If this cold/fever doesn't kill me (and I don't want to know who of you wants me to die), I'll be a little more literate (well, "coherent" is for spoken words) later. For now, I'm apparently using a lot of alliteration. And not enough medication. (And wow - I'm rhyming, too.)

Going away now. Really.
Ah Bill, I see what you're doing there.. Tori Amos now... :)

The theme from Barney Miller is awesome too - give that a spin someday (just to mix it up)

Short and sweet.

There are a few that lock me into a time . . . this and The Avengers theme  . . .

I loved the episode with Shatner losing it as the gremlin thing stares through the plane window at him.

I used to work with a guy who looked like the gremlin....hi Martin.
Happy 50th BD, Twilight Zone!
Still one of my all time fav black 'n white TV shows

OMGoddess!  Here we go (again)...  {#Eek}

My young kids went on Disneyland's The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which plays this tune at the "pre-ride" area in a dark room. The ride freaked them out. When I later played for them the intro to the Twilight Zone TV show, the kids screamed and refused to watch the show. This song is SCARY to them, but in a good way. :)

Alrighty...
Thought you were gonna play Manhattan Transfer for a second there...
WTF Bill? Have another whippet...{#Eyes}
this past new year's eve and day (exactly two weeks ago today), the scifi channel was running a twilight zone marathon while my wife was toughing it out through a marathon of her own: labor. we had the show on with the volume off in the delivery room to give her something to focus on while she pushed and pushed and pushed. our son was born while burgess meredith was fumbling around on the ground looking for his glasses. one thing for sure, i'll never look at THAT show the same again.
awesome!! totally awesome!!!

Bill, do you have the Grateful Dead version?

Was just thinking the same thing.  Was telling my wife about that while watching a newer Twilight Zone last week.  She didn't remember it.

That was incredible!!
All we need now is the intro to "The Outer Limits"...
...bloody iconic...
Bill, do you have the Grateful Dead version?
Only on RP!

That's so funny...THIS is my ring tone. right after the Clash which was somebody else's ringtone!
Golden Earring - Twilight Zone followed by Marius Constant - Twilight Zone Theme... That is awesome. RP, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
interesting. i always thought the great Bernard Herrman wrote this. Apparently he did write the original theme but it was discarded after the first season and was replaced with this.
It may be said with a degree of assurance that not everything that meets the eye is as it appears.

Gotta love the visual in-mind about the piece of history that is The Twighlight Zone. While on TV Themes. The Avengers theme is quite nice

I feel like this one is too short to be rated.
Next up: theme to the Patty Duke Show... starring Patty Duke!

It is nice to hear it in much better fidelity than it was over the TV all these years.
