Some girls give me money
Some girls buy me clothes
Some girls give me jewelry
That I never thought I'd own
Some girls give me diamonds
Some girls, heart attacks
Some girls I give all my bread to
I don't ever want it back
Some girls give me jewelry
Others buy me clothes
Some girls give me children
I never asked them for
So give me all your money
Give me all your gold
I'll buy you a house back in Zuma beach
And give you half of what I own
Some girls take my money
Some girls take my clothes
Some girls get the shirt off my back
And leave me with a lethal dose
French girls they want Cartier
Italian girls want cars
American girls want everything in the world
You can possibly imagine
English girls they're so prissy
I can't stand them on the telephone
Sometimes I take the receiver off the hook
I don't want them to ever call at all
White girls they're pretty funny
Sometimes they drive me mad
Black girls just wanna get fucked all night
I just don't have that much jam
Chinese girls are so gentle
They're really such a tease
You never know quite what they're cookin'
Inside those silky sleeves
Give me all you money
Give me all your gold
I'll buy you a house back in Zuma beach
And give you half of what I own
Yeah baby why don't you please come home
Some girls they're so pure
Some girls so corrupt
Some girls give me children
I only made love to her once
Give me half your money
Give me half your car
Give me half of everything
I'll make you world's biggest star
So gimme all your money
Give me all your gold
Let's go back to Zuma beach
I'll give you half of everything I own
Some girls buy me clothes

I think they were trying to be provocative here. The Stones were losing their bad-boy rep before this album and were regarded as dated and listless IIRC. Some Girls was highly regarded when it came out but this song caused a lot of heartburn.
You "think" too much. Or have read some tripe about how things were back in the day.
There is no way that the Stones were regarded as dated in 1978. They were at the top of their game. Mick didn't "try" to be provocative. He was provocative.

Yuck, those lyrics are really gross and inappropriate - '...black girls just want to get *** all night and I dont have that much jam" eaughhhh!!!
and to think I just finished reading Keith Richards autobiography and found him really good. Jagger must have written this.....

Black and Blue (featuring Ron Wood) preceded Some Girls.
Not as misogynistic as the gatefold used for Black and Blue, which followed this.

Not one of their best. Can't help but feel this is just a bit too misogynistic - even for the Stones.

I'll always remember Garrett Morris on weekend update on SNL when this album came out:
"Mr. Jagger, I just got one question for you about your song Some Girls; where are all these women at?"

This is a very good album and should receive more aclaim. First Ronnie Wood album?
And it's a bit nasty...good RnR for a Friday afternoon.
Simple, ain't it?

Is it true when he sings about black girls - just curious......

Preceded actually. Here is the controversial billboard from 1976:

Rock n' Roll meets disco - the whole album. Their last great album when they were still the greatest R&R band in the world...
Hey Mick! Please pass the jam.
ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Stones record, and forever pulls me back to the summer of '78, not a care in the world, killer weed, and a cool night job at a local Japanese restaurant that kept me happy in sukiyaki, Kirin and sake, and gave me a family way better than my real one!

Yeah, fine Stones, and they had to have bold pairs of them to produce this, yeah(?). :) More of these, DJ(s), please.
