How can I believe that everything in this world is going to be fine?
How can I believe that everything in this world has its place and time?
When I lay down to sleep, I feel the world spin
Slightly off axis, it's shaped like a fig
And when I lie next to you, I shiver and shake
You tell me you love me, I dream I'm awake
How can I believe that everything in this world is going to be fine?
And how can I believe that everything in this world has its place and time?
'Cause when I lay down to sleep, I have the same dream
Of a world-famous actress in a pink limousine
And she flies through the sky in that pink Cadillac
While the boys of the Press, we drink vodka in back
And she tells us our fortune by crumbling leaves
And she teaches us card tricks, the Jack makes us weak
She divines water by dancing a jig for the boys of the Press
She will wrestle a pig

Rest assured, this song brings joy to more than just Bill .

I agree with Bill.  This is a joyful song.  Really not sure why it's rated so low.

maybe it just sucks
can't believe all the ones for this song, it's a great song!
...well William you are Radio Paradise. We listen, We Love, We disagree, We learn.

ouch too much noise
WOW - very perplexing there are so many "1s" among this wise and seasoned RP group...?  Love this album and this tune myself.
there's something wrong with this song

Is there a Mister Elf Destruct?
Brilliant song off one of my favorite albums.  Thanks RP.
The complaints make me wonder what people would do if they heard II & III.....
giving it a 10, partly for the memories.
More Camper or Cracker Please!
This is awesome to me, but I completely understand how some might find it a challenging listen.  Sometimes, as I think with this song, the context within an album is relevant and may make it a bit more relatable.  I dunno, that's just my theory anyway.

I hear a lot of low-bitrate digital compression in this track (listening on 320AAC stream!).  Is it some kind of effect they were after, or just a bad copy on Bill's end, I wonder?  Descent song, sounds terrible though.

That's the way it's mixed/mastered. Our copy is a lossless (FLAC) rip from the CD.

I haven't listened to this with headphones in years but I think they did do something on the actual recording, pre-digital, to the violin, like some tape flutter or something cheap.
Just when I thought they had fallen off a cliff, they came back for an encore {#Stop}

Remember those direct drive turntables you could change the speed on (and watch the strobe change).....
Ouch, hurts my ears in itchy places!
Classic tune and album from late 80's...love it!
Please make this dude stop!

New-to-you is still pretty good.

I'm still sort of amazed to realize this band can be called "pioneering."

I'm sorry, perhaps I'm having a bad day.  Do people really like this sort of thing, or are they just being polite?  A 10?  Really?
Pointless. A 2 at best.
OMG-- I totally forgot about this album - which is a shame because I loved it! Wonder if I still have that old cassette tape somewhere...
Hideous! A lukewarm blob of off-key wailing. And is that supposed to be some twisted, demented form of violin I hear? No thanks, I'm driving. Marginal, at best. 2.
Thanks Bill for playing this! Looks like I'm going to miss it, because I have to go to class. Happy Birthday to me!
horrible
Like a train wreck in my ears. And just when you think it's over, it starts again!

Jack Benny's exaggeratedly bad violin playing was more enjoyable than whatever that noise is in the background to this song. Is it a small animal being tortured? Put the poor thing (and me) out of it's misery.

its weird, definetily weird, but i like it
Wow. Never heard that track before. The ending was simply amazing.
Aaahhhhhh.... Brings back memories of college and the art projects I used to do while listening to Camper....
I don't know if I'd want to hear this band all the time, but this song is pretty nice (first CVB song I know I've heard).
My all-time favorite CVB song - a true classic, and a "10" IMHO
