if the Lips are still touring the Yoshimi album this summer, go check it out.  Saw them in Milwaukee and they do not disappoint.  this album rocks live especially with the theatrics.  still finding confetti in my hair.

A very special song.  Up there with the best.  The production is courageous - and works.
The lyrics are very poignant right now as the world gets closer and closer to the abyss.

I saw them perform a few years ago at the Eden Project in Cornwall, supported by The Go Team and Here We Go Magic. Energetic, mad, sublime, and unforgettable. Love the Flips!

Several years ago people made this into a play in San Diego and I believe Wayne Coyne was involved. It was really cool. They made it about battling cancer and Yoshimi was battling the cancer cells (pink robots) with her white robots (T-cells). They made these really cool larger than life robots that moved and interacted with Yoshimi. It bounced back and forth between the "real life" scenes and the battle with the robots. They weaved in most or all of the songs into the story. I wish it had been better received and was more successful, but I really enjoyed it. The promo above isn't the best but I think they tried to amp it up a bit but you get the idea. It was in 2012.

They are like a trippy-er version of The Doves. Doves are more mainstream while the Lips are more out there.

Saw them in Switzerland some 15 years ago. I think the whole audience was some 50 people. Kinda sad. But they went out of there way to give us a good time, and it felt even more special and personal that way. One of the most memorable concerts I've ever been to. Thanks guys!

After hearing this song so many times on RP, I realized that the background laughter and applause is on the same track that gets repeated over and over...

But pretty cool synthesizer though...
