This is freaking hilarious !!!!!
All these years I thought this song was "I wanna be your dog." I am really disappointed.
And all these years I thought this was "I wanna be your door", which is full of interesting possibilities. I'm here to be opened - will you dare walk through?
But - what if you close it after you're through? The metaphor begins to sprout paradoxes.
All these years I thought this song was "I wanna be your dog." I am really disappointed.
TThat is the appeal of this song. I love that the words are I want to be your dog
Maybe THE best meme of all time.
I wanna be a dork.....?
Love, love this song. Favorite Stone Roses song by far. Transports me to another plane. Only wish is the full version of this song. Seems this one is 4:30 and album version is 4:52. Needs the full intro build-up imo.
wait... who am I kidding?
Of COURSE I read the comments!! WOOF!! lmao!
DOOOOOORK!!!♭♬
I wanna be your dog! and the t-shirt designs I want for Fathers Day!
Kinda sick but I get the creativity.
One of the more seminal albums and bands of the era. Phenomenal shows...watch the documentary. It's obvious that the heavy Manchester drug & music scene killed the band but they were white hot when they were in their stride.
Record label shenanigans killed the Roses more than any party drugs.

Iggy.
He just wants to be your dog.
i think this stands the time test quite well.
Of all the mondegreens through the past half century or so of listening to songs on radio and now the ether, this must be the most
consistently misinterpreted I have heard. I wanna be a dog wins on all counts. I wish it was possible to hear it as sung, or so I imagine.
Reni is truly spectacular on the drums , busy as hell on those cans...
the rest of the guys felt like a overgrown boy band, but still it was a good experience to catch them live, finally.
Sam's song?
Yeah it's a decent tune, but we're just having a bit of fun in here. ( -:

New single about to drop, apparently.
EXACTLY! That part where he keeps barking that he wants to be a dog....
Reminds me of the time I dropped into a leather shop in Folsom Gulch, not far from The Eagle, looking for a decent motorcycling jacket, when I spied a couple of fellows next to my rack. One was dressed pretty normally w/ jeans, and the other was trying on the leather. The jeans guy was standing there reassuring his partner, who was on his hands and knees wearing a studded dog-collar that was connected to a leash that was held by Mr. Blue Jeans — "It's okay, there now. That's better isn't it?" were the very words of Mr. Blue Jeans to Fido.
This song and that visual are forever linked in my mind....
Haha! You're stuck with it now!

Better you than me. This was a 10 when I first heard it (not in a leather shop) and it's still a 10.
He doesn't have to sell his soul. He will shed away what isn't dog. The dog is already inside. It is as good a thing to want as any.
Wait a minute...umm...

I always kinda heard it as "I wanna be a door...," which is even more bizarre. Now that I've perused the lyrics, I can't hear that any more.
Wait a minute...umm...
Probably the most natural, loose, almost lazy guitar riffs I have ever heard - genius
The feeling is mutual.
Who wants to be a dog? Woof.
Hi! I am from Brasil and i love this song very much!
Grats.

WikiLeaks Volunteer Was a Paid Informant for the FBI
Thordarson was long time volunteer for WikiLeaks with direct access to Assange and a key position as an organizer in the group. With his cold war-style embassy walk-in, he became something else: the first known FBI informant inside WikiLeaks. For the next three months, Thordarson served two masters, working for the secret-spilling website and simultaneously spilling its secrets to the U.S. government in exchange, he says, for a total of about $5,000. The FBI flew him internationally four times for debriefings, including one trip to Washington D.C., and on the last meeting obtained from Thordarson eight hard drives packed with chat logs, video and other data from WikiLeaks.
The relationship provides a rare window into the U.S. law enforcement investigation into WikiLeaks, the transparency group newly thrust back into international prominence with its assistance to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. Thordarson’s double-life illustrates the lengths to which the government was willing to go in its pursuit of Julian Assange, approaching WikiLeaks with the tactics honed during the FBI’s work against organized crime and computer hacking — or, more darkly, the bureau’s Hoover-era infiltration of civil rights groups...
biz as usual, folks
If you're Samuel L. Jackson, maybe some sort of cosmic trade can be worked out...

According to the Wiki - The dord is a bronze horn native to Ireland, with excavated examples dating back as far as 1000 BC, during the Bronze Age. 104 original dords are known to exist...
Too clever!!
Regarding the comments saying it sounds like "I wanna be a dog," I always thought it sounded like "I wanna be a door," which makes perhaps less sense, but is at least more surreal...

I will forever sing it this way. Hahahahahahhahah
