Locked in a kiss
Outside eyes cease to exist
We'll shut it out of the fist
Spying eyes cease to exist, we'll shut it out
Eight o'clock, the lights are on at Shea
Phone turned down, we've nothing much to say
Dozing off the TV drones
House key makes them turn and glance for home
Locked in a kiss
Outside eyes cease to exist
Flayed of the fist
Spying eyes cease to exist, we'll shut it out
Outside eyes cease to exist
We'll shut it out of the fist
Spying eyes cease to exist, we'll shut it out
Eight o'clock, the lights are on at Shea
Phone turned down, we've nothing much to say
Dozing off the TV drones
House key makes them turn and glance for home
Locked in a kiss
Outside eyes cease to exist

Once again, a hearty hats off to William and team for digging in the vault and dusting off some amazing and unheard tracks from many years ago. Loving the classic YLT.
Unless I'm missing something, the last comments on this song are from 18 years ago. Years! Does that mean it's been out of circulation that long? If so, that would make this a deep cut / back of the rack selection - I dig it all the more for that. Plus it's just a pretty cool song.
Haha!

The Onion is fantastic.

It certainly is...
I love this song! ...I thought it was our ITunes playlist instead of Radio Paradise this a.m.
This is just annoying
maybe after another listen. I'm still down from the new order song, and this one didnt make it much better.
Sterolabish
Good stuff!

The Partridge Family does acid jazz.
Love this song!
Those off-key scales are my favorite part of this song.

yea, now that's what I'M talkin' about! (except i'm in my porsche).
I could be wrong but I think the intro is exactly the same as (gulp) Band of Gold by Freda Payne (showing my age there) . Of course there are not many notes on a bass guitar....
Heard this the first day I got turned onto RP... still really like the track. Yes, it's the driving bass line, along with zooming effects.... Makes me want a hit of mesc while canoeing the Boardman on a sunny day, or maybe a nice CA coastal mountain run in the Jag with top dropped....

Yeah it was nice the first 20 times.
What's that Beatles sound ? from A Day in the Life? Is that it?
I love the bassline, though.

Not too bad, but do they need to practice their scales in the middle of a song?
they also sound really off-key.
I must admit I've never liked Yo La Tengo. One of my best friends almost hates me for that.

A fine cut from a very fine album, IMHO.... And the sonic textures range from sublime and nearly silent to cacaphonic distorted bliss. All the while with a subtle sense of melody. Off center, always tasteful, usually psychedelic, and truly original.
Exactly! Inventive, melodic, unique, interesting - great album, cool band 8)
Great album!
Love the swelling guitar bit on this song... and the piano

Ira and Georgia are about the most inventive duo I've seen in a long time. Their shows are incredible.
I saw them at the Austin City Music Festival last year, and they were impressive, given their musical talent and age! As I said in another post, appearance-wise, they could easily be parents sitting on the sidelines of a soccer field.
Dreamy, edgy sequenced piano, ethereal vocals. Reminds me of the Who's Armenia City in the Sky. I could loop on this all day.

Nice! :)

ROFLMAO!

Agreed, and they could use just a bit more practice.
Decent tune, for the most part, but borders on the "odd for odd's sake" side.
