I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight
Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down.
Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
Remember when we used to play?
Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.
Music played, and people sang
Just for me, the church bells rang.
Now he's gone, I don't know why
And 'til this day, sometimes I cry
He didn't even say goodbye
He didn't take the time to lie.
Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down...
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white

This singer? Funny. Did you find out that's she's Frank Sinatra's daughter? Point is she was famous before singing anything.
How weird is the internet, I never heard of this singer before today when I was browsing some old photos online and noticed Nancy Sinatra and I come here and a song plays....... wow

Really find this song to be not only a downer, but also one of the worst "earwig" songs on the planet. Hitting the PSD button any time it comes on.

This album cover isn't right — "Bang Bang" is not on the Nancy & Lee record!

This record proves Time Travel is possible.
better than her brother f jr.

Lest we forget, she had a number one hit before her Dad.
Brilliant, other worldly
She WASN'T a one hit wonder.
this is exactly why i think this version is superior. controlled restraint. that's true mastery and artistry. anyone can scream and yell through a song (Florence!!)

Much prefer Cher's version.
Lady GaGa does and exceptional version on her Tony Bennett duo concert. She can sing. I mean see can really sing!
This is one of those rare pieces that is as exquisite as it is powerful — and timeless.
Didn't Cher do the original?

Judging from the phrasing and timing of her vocals, there sure is something to be said for talent being hereditary.
I love the asynchronous stereo mix of Nancy's vocal and Stranger's guitar! Classic track!!

Ah, that's why I recognize this song, but didn't remember it sounding like this. I think I like both versions, actually.

Wow. Solo voice and single guitar. Awesome. Completely unexpected! If you'd asked me "want to hear some Nancy Sinatra" I might have said "huh? what? why?" and expected nothing like this at all.
Reverb...cooooool

It's surprising how many great songs Sonny wrote.
I was coming home from work one day and pulled along side Sonny at a signal in Indian Wells, California.
He looked over at me and gave me a thumbs up... I guess because of my truck.
I waved back.
He did at lot of good things here in the Coachella Valley.
There's even a bronze statue of him in downtown Palm Springs.
WOW,
I thought this was somebody new doing a cover.
I was very surprised when Bill said it was Nancy Sinatra.
I looked it up - it's from her second album in 1966.
I always liked Cher's version. Sonny wrote the song.

She looks so uncomfortable in this picture.
And I don't mean her leg is falling asleep.

I never liked her singing/songs. She only made any kind of dent because of her father's influence. And he only made it because of Mafia backing. I guess you can see I'm not a big fan of any of the Sinatras. In fact, I think Tony Bennett was/is far superior to Frank.
Too bad people don't take her seriously. She is actually pretty talented and has done some great stuff. Check out her duets w/ Lee Hazlewood etc
LOL — I was at Bonefish Grill last week and heard them play this song!! They have an appetizer called "Bang Bang Shrimp" — it's very yummy!
Haven't heard this in a coon's age.
(14 to 17 years in captivity, if you're guessing).
Perfect for a Japanese-American cougarfight slugfest!

Didn't like it by Cher and like it even less by NS.
