Wonder if you can pick up my
Accent on the phone
When I call across the country
When I call across the world
I -- see you in my kitchen
I can picture you now
As you toast to your small town
When you drink the happy hour
I'm in London still
I'm in London still
I'm in London still

I took the tube over to Camden
To wander around
I bought some funky records
With that old Motown sound
And I miss you like my left arm
That's been lost in a war
Today I dream of home and not of London anymore
I'm in London still
I'm in London still
Yeah I'm in London still

You know it's okay
I'm kinda happy here for now
I -- ( think I've finally grown up
And got myself a lover now
And if I ever come home
And I, I think I will
I hope you're gonna wanna hang at my place on Sunday still
Oh yeah I hope you will
Cause I'm in London still

You know we got it sorted, yeah
We really got it down
To a fine art on Sunday
In a sleepy Sunday town
I wonder what I'm missing
I think of songs I've never heard
I'm dreaming of your voices
And I'm dreaming of your herb
I'm in London still
I'm in London still
I'm in London still

Oh I'm in London still
la-la-la-la-la London still
I'm in London

This band (2 sisters and 1 guy) are from Australia (W.A to be specific). I used to see them play at Steve's hotel back in Perth when I was at Uni in the 90s. This song makes me homesick for Australia every time I listen to it.
Yeah, know the feeling.. just wanna go to the beach for a change, feel the sun, the clean southern hemisphere skies, breathe the fresh air.. cripes this song makes me feel miserable...
Leaves on the line again
First saw this group in 2000, 2001 playing at an Industry Look-see gig, along with 2 dozen other acts. They are the only ones I remember.
Bill, while we are on the subject of Aussie bands how about a couple of tracks from Axiom, great band from the late sixties.I'd recommend Fords Bridge.
London Still...
So is that supposed to be a mash-up of London Grammar and Crooked Still?
Intriguing work on the guitar!

Based on what I heard this morning, apparently so. Which is too bad for everybody involved.
I heard Kirsty Mccall and a bit of Suzanne Vega, too.
Very similar voice to Karole from Bettie Serveert, love it!
Never noticed this song before.  Not bad - made me stop and check out the comments.

To me, she sounds like Lucinda Williams with a different accent;)
Is she in London.... still?

First heard this in Olomouc, in the Czech Republic.  Early morning in the Poet's Corner hostel, run by an Australian couple. Loved the town, loved the hostel, love the song.

Great story
Go Girls, takes me back to driving the F3 up to Ettalong NSW and wanting to put a back pack on a take off with the my better half.
Awful Awful Awful

I do on this song, but not on their others.
As an Ex-Pat Canadian who did live in London for a while...gotta love this...

Great tune, and I swear it sounds better each time I hear it.  Can't wait to see Missy Higgins open for what's his name at RR later this summer either.

Some early Doors would be pretty good right now.
Yes, very Sheryl Crow and Rickie Lee, I'm 50/50 cause I don't like either one of them. I'm not crazy about it......but say London to me and I'm there!
Reminds me of some early Sheryl Crow and Rickie Lee Jones...   Love it!
EXTREMELY SEXY...!

I absolutely love this song.  It's my favorite on what I consider to be a mighty fine CD.

Well, since the Waifs are Aussie, I'd imagine you were right.  But, as she says in the lyrics, her accent has become slightly brit.

at last, variety from the waifs on rp! good one!
Never heard this before! Nice!
I thought this was Suzanne Vega. No matter -- off to download it.
damn - I'm not in London town - made the fecking move out...don't do it. A rural idyll - The Hell of the countryside. Say no more... like listening to Pink Floyd inside a darkened outdoor toilet.
I havn't heard this is in a couple years. Cool tune!
WHOAH! That skipped violently from F TRAIN...
