Caught up in a whirlwind, can't catch my breath.
Knee deep in hot water, broke out in cold sweat.
Can't catch a turtle, in this rat race.
Feels like I'm losing time, at a breakneck pace.
Afraid of my own shadow, in the face of grace.
Heart full of darkness, spotlight on my face.
There was love all around me, but I was looking for revenge.
Thank God it never found me, would have been the end.
Walkin' the tight rope, steppin' on my friends
Walkin' the tight rope, was a shame and a sin.
Walkin' the tight rope, between wrong and right.
Walkin' the tight rope, both day and night.
Lookin' back in front of me, in the mirror's grin.
Through eyes of love I see, I'm really lookin' at a friend
We've had all our problems, that's the way life is.
My heart goes out to others, who are there to make amends.
We have been walkin' the tightrope Trying to make it right
Walkin' the tightrope every day and every night
Walkin' the tightrope bring it all around.
Walkin' the tightrope from the lost to found.
Walkin' the tightrope stretched around the world.
Walkin' the tightrope save the boys and girls.
Walkin' the tightrope let's make it right.
Walkin' the tightrope do it, do it tonight.

Did this track fly just a little under the radar? This is some of SRV’s finest, most creative blues phrasing I’ve ever heard. A perfect 10.
...and the dude could sing.

I gave you a thumbs up but, I also feel the need to point out,... I agree with who you mentioned but, there are many more that are as good, some, even better, than those you cited. E VanHalen, Yngwie Malmsteen, and, the list could go on. ALL, truly phenomenal shredders!
The BEST!!! SRV, Jeff Beck and Joe Bonamassa !!!!!!!!!

That's about a really piss poor comment to make about, not only one of the best blues guitarist's ever but, to speak as you did of the deceased is just wrong. I ain't judging though... God will take care of that disrespectful arrogance. But, before God, karma will exact it's own revenge.
Now that the hype is long gone we can better appreciate SRV for what he was; an average barroom blues guitarist

A round will NEVER make up for the rather snide comment regarding a phenomenal blues guitarist. I'll pass on the round, considering the source

Le Colonel is probably of the Lawrence Welk ilk! To not be able to truly enjoy the ultimate blues guitarist to ever shred, that's almost an insult to the man, the legend. RIP SRV. You're sorely missed but, your music/legend will forever remain. Thank you for giving us something so great to keep your memory alive. Thnx Bill & crew, for having ANY SRV in the rotation!

Yeah, 'cause I'm THIRSTY!
one of the truly GREATEST guitarists to walk the planet!!
Supergreat!
EXCELLENT!!!
Stupendous guitar.
I was lucky enough to see SRV at Nick's Uptown on Greenville Avenue in Dallas a handful of times in the mid-to-late 80s, for a $5 cover charge. He was nothing short of electrifying!
BRING IT!!!

Stevie was a Force of Nature, for sure! Thankfully for myself and many others at CU Boulder in the late '80s, he inspired Big Head Todd and a couple of classmates to turn our Friday Afternoon Club gatherings at the UMC into legendary BluesJam Rock Parties!

Another kickass song for Rock Band... Especially for the bass.
Walking bass 101. Nothing but cool to play.
Bro. SRV and hollow just don't belong in the same space.

Radio stations in Texas are legally required to play both SRV and ZZ Top at least once an hour. Growing up in Dallas, I got fairly bored with both. With ZZ Top, it hasn't changed, but after seeing a SRV gig a couple weeks ago on VH1 Classic, I was reminded of what an absurdly excellent guitar player he was.
Yet another reason to love Texas!
Hard day ahead and this just lightens the load

It's true. The Texas legislature was called into special session by Gov. Ann Richards just to pass the bill into law. It passed unanimously with only two abstentions (by congressman from the only red county in the state).
A friend of mine from New York started listening to SRV a while back and said to me, ''You know, he could really swing.'' And I said yeah, I know, he was the real deal. And he said, ''No, I mean, he could really swing. He really had that swing.'' I just laughed. Yeah. He was the real deal.
Such an incredible solo...
