She's cut like a diamond from a mine as deep as time
The words that she's spoken have energised my mind
A sheer elevation so like eagles high, we'll glide
Hot love it smoulders, it's something she can't hide
A manifestation of a force as old as time
Now morning has broken and solarized my eyes
Her sheer dispensation says like eagles high, we'll glide
Solarized in the sunrise, soul rise in the sunrise
Rise with the sunrise, solarized in the sunrise
Soul rise in the sunrise, rise with the sunrise
The light that she lives for in the dark, she'll always find

... or Eric Clapton who is God
This is one of those songs that makes you stop what you are doing and ask, Who is this?
Let's call these "knock, knock songs" :)
One of Ian's coolest grooves, to be sure! Every time I see that cover pic, it takes me back to the Taikodani Inari Jinja, near Tsuwano, Shimane-ken, one of the largest and most important of its kind, located along a misty ridge in one of the most surreal places in all of Japan... But part of its charm is that it's so remote, so it's more likely that he's at the main one in Fushimi, Kyoto-fu. I also think it's clever that the title reflects how in Shinto worship, the Sun is at the top of the pantheon, and a mirror is at the center of the altar of each of the thousands of shrines scattered throughout the country.
thankyou coloradojohn to the rescue again, cheers
That set kicked some a$$ - Tom Petty, Puscifer, Unkle, T Rex, DJ Schmolli, Sneaker Pimps, Ian Brown...

I think I like it now for its nostalgic sound but I may not have liked it at the time - just shows you to always keep an open mind :)
It's like he liked the results of the vocals he did for Unkle so much that he just had to make more like that.
I'd say, it's great stuff!

I'm with you on the quality of the album though.
sounding cool today too
I loved the first Stone Roses album, The Second Coming was much less exciting. I've only heard a small amount of his solo stuff, but what I have heard I've liked.
I'm with you on the quality of the album though.
This number's slowly growing on me, musically at least - the lyrics are plain spaced-out stoner bollox. 6 from the Nottingham jury.
Lol!!! Luv yer Fred...
me too
That ain't right! What's he got against you? This has gone on long enough, don't let him beat you. Call the cops, carry a weapon or call me. I'm not much of a fighter but maybe the 2 of us can turn the tables on him.
