This is the only Magic Numbers song (of three) played on RP that doesn't rip on this band in some way for being fat. What's up with all of the fat haters? This album is catchy and worth keeping on the playlist circuit, but nothing spectacular nor terrible. And now I've completed the fat reference trilogy by posting this for this song. Damn it.
what station am I listening to. sick
Boring, repetitive. Rock, it ain't! AMG claims it is Adult Alternative Pop/ Rock Indie Rock . . . but to me it is only pop and barely good enough for that. Good pop would be Herman's Hermits. Are we boycotting melody in the Oughties?
This band sounds strikingly like The Polyphonic Spree* - but, unfortunately the Spree gets poo-pooed everytime I try to upload a song. Wonder why that is? Only The Spree is LOTS better.

Oh, I hear it now, and totally agree. From an 8 to a 6, well, a 7. I wonder what they were thinking.
Ugh.

I like the sound of this, but the obtrusive "die for you's" over and over bring my rating of this song down. One of the guitar riffs is vaguely reminiscent of Neil Young's Harvest Moon.
I rather like this track but it sounds a lot like something else that I can't quite place.

What a weird, completely apples-and-oranges comment to make.
Nope. I agree with the comparison. More like Jonathans vs. Red Delicious. (https://www.indoindians.com/food/apple_types.htm)
I actually quite like this. Unfortunately, the album is a bit hit and miss. Much better is the remarkably similar sounding band named 'Aberfeldy' - I'll upload a couple of tracks to LRC if not already there.
The problem with this band is that, at least on every song of theirs I've heard, they just don't know when to stop. If their songs were a quick and refreshing two and half minutes instead of 5 or 6 minutes, I'd rate 'em a lot higher.
I thought most of the album was actually pretty good. It's hard to resist indie-pop. Though they are definitely no Stars (pun not intended).

I was completely intrigued by this song and bought the CD. A bit disappointed with the rest of the tracks. This band may end up one of those one-hit wonders. I never understood how a band can have one great song and the rest mediocre. (Of course, this entire comment assumes the song is great, which is obviously a matter of opinion...but it's got your attention, now, doesn't it?)
I never bought the CD, but I can't help but like this song. I like the way the tempo changes.
I saw them in Amsterdam in September. Good vibes live. The album is not 100% good, I agree.
This is all over the place like a shotgun blast with no choke. Too weird for me, so if it's your cup of tea, you go dawg.
That's a Pretenders riff, non?

Steals very heavily from The Cranberries - When You're Gone.
please make the pain stop...

Bill, you're playing this waaay too much. Once was enough for me, thanks. KK
I totally agree...Please stop
This is one of those rare instances where I actually lower my rating each time I hear this. I liked if the first time I heard it and now I find it quite annoying.

I like this. it is different and light.
ho hum, I don't need this again.
Cross between Country Joe and The Bonzos

it's in itunes under "eclectic" I believe. I know 'cause I discoverd it while looking through the itunes library

I need to upload some of 'The Incredible Moses Leroy'
Unfortunately the beginning of this song has been used in a commercial here in the Czech Republic by one of the local mobile phone operators...

YOU give it a 1, I'll make up my own mind, thanks. Nice little tune, I like!
Strangely, I find myself driving scissors through my ear.
This is WEAK...flacid...well, you get the idea.
ugh. This is horrid.
cute little toon.
Cool song.... But a BRILLIANT cross-fade, Bill!
wow, im pretty surprised at the overall rating, this song just keeps growing on me, very catchy and mellow.
GROOOVY!
Ok, my like of this song went up, then in the last several days it has started declining, after hearing it almost every single day on RP.

Yep, me too!! Has a nice hook to it!
Reminds me of the similar doo-wop-esque Cranberries tune "When You're Gone". It's better than worse anyway...pretty good.

I like it also! Reminds me of The Arcade Fire. Very quirky!

Yeah I just had to up my rating from 3 to 5, it's not bad, but it is certainly just ok.

I glad people seem to be coming around on this one. You are right on with this, Bill. We need some more track to listen to though. So much freakin' fun.
I love this stuff! A bit retro...
the more I hear it, the more I REALLY dig it--its different---my wife pointed out that it really sounds like something David Lynch would use in one of his movies...sorta twin-peakish...I can totally see it.
I don't know. It's hurting me right now.
If this had come out about 1958, it would have been a big hit.
I liked it the first time I heard it and continues to grow on me. Thanks for another new one RP!
Moving up... 4 to 6. Goofy. Fun. It's growing on me, Bill.
it's growing on me - bumped it again
I loved the song!
please give this a 1, its trash
garbage, hence the 1 rating, i feel generous!MisterVErb wrote:

Okay, it might actually be growing on me. A couple more listens and I might have to bump the rating as Bill suggested!
