I was so young when I was born
My eyes could not yet see
And by the time of my first dawn
Somebody holding me, they said

I welcome you to Crackerbox Palace
We've been expecting you
You'll bring such joy in Crackerbox Palace
No matter where you roam, know our love is true

While growing up, or trying to
Not knowing where to start
I looked around for someone who
May help reveal my heart, and someone said

While you're a part of Crackerbox Palace
Do what the rest all do
Or face the fact that Crackerbox Palace
May have no other choice than to deport you

And we welcome you to Crackerbox Palace
We've been expecting you
You'll bring such joy in Crackerbox Palace
No matter where you roam, know our love is true

It's twue, it's twue

Some times are good, some times are bad
That's all a part of life
And standing in between them all
I met a Mr. Greif, and he said

I welcome you to Crackerbox Palace
Was not expecting you
Let's rap and tap at Crackerbox Palace
Know that the Lord is well and inside of you

And we welcome you to Crackerbox Palace
We've been expecting you
You'll bring such joy in Crackerbox Palace
No matter where you roam, know our love is true

You'll bring such joy in Crackerbox Palace
No matter where you roam, know our love
Know our love is true

Agreed. George seemed to yo-yo between fantastic, philosophical, mystical pieces and seemingly trite ones. This is in the latter camp.
Not George's best.
The video for this was pretty bizarre. Had a pretty big impression on me. As soon as this song starts it pops into my mind.
Makes me feel like I'm at a musical circus or something. Yuk.

Oh yeah, now I do to. This song was making me think of years gone by, thanks for putting your finger on it!
I really like this one. Never noticed him saying "It's twue! It's twue!" Do you think he liked "Blazing Saddles"?
Brilliant! I actually have this lp. Maybe not his biggest or best, but this song is certainly lovely (and I think the video and certainly, the album photos, were shot at Harrison's estate).

Thought it sounded like some long lost John Lennon song, but it turns out to be George!
Takes me back to spring of '77. A visit to San Diego. PS for a ho hum song - it sure get's a lot of comments
It's not George's BEST solo song but still a lovely little chestnut to hear uncovered on RP. TJ

Lord, I'd forgotten this song entirely. It's fun.
