Lyrics:

Everybody says that the living is easy
I can barely see cause my head's in the way
Tigers walk behind me, they are to remind me that
I'm lost, but I'm not afraid

Soul to soul, A kiss and a sigh
Sawed in half, by the passage of time
Halfway home, from a window you see
Chains and bars, but I am still free

People on the outside, I remember sweet times
This old rose, is always in bloom
Everybody's happy, to be a baby daddy
Stone love, with nothing to lose

Life is long, if you give it way
So stay, don't go, cause I'm fading away
Soul to soul, between you and me
Chain me down, but I am still free

Now I can say, those three little words
And every day, I'm dreaming a world
Soul to soul, a kiss and a sigh
Holding back, the waters outside.

Life is long, if you give it away
So stay, don't go, cause I'm fading away
Soul to soul, between you and me
Chain me down, but I am still free
DAMN this is good!
Nice lyrics, but it's just too darn repetitive.

Sorry I am tired of DB & THs

But not Bill: he loves Byrnin' down the house.

I like DB + BE; however this is not as edgy as they can be—it's too mainstream pop.

You make a ''mute'' point.

well, i gave it a chance. sad to say The Cure sound good following it. Whatever it was. If I'm never to hear it again i won't be upset. I'd give it a two or three. At least it wasn't three minutes of The Killers. I suppose byrne and eno are old and tired but do they need to sound it. I suppose it's a contrivance. For the sake of it. Left me feeling annoyed and agitated. But not in a good way.

I hear that.  It's too bad byrned-out is still trying to learn how to sing.

Love Eno. Byrne, not so much.  This is beneath both of them.

It is interesting that Eno has not done more vocal work since he swept through the industry back in the seventies.. as though he actually agrees with his critics that his voice is not up to it.. pity. I'd like to hear more of his singing..

just an idle thought on the side..

as for this album, yeah, um.. ok. don't really know where to place it.

...followed by all cats are grey, i'm calling this bipolar day on radio paradise...
Love Eno. Byrne, not so much.  This is beneath both of them.
I'm not super fond of it, but I definitely like it more than a lot of songs averaging 8-10.

I so much expected the sequel to the iconic "My Life In The Bush of Ghosts."

Instead, this is the sequel to "Wrong Way Up." Not as impressed.

America is STILL waiting.....

Not too impressed either. I do like 'Stange Overtones'. It's a little more 'Eno-ish'. (And it's a free download this week at Amazon MP3!)

I'm a Talking Heads/David Byrne fan, but this one isn't doing much for me.

I'm not liking this one so much. I like the other 2 from the album that Bill plays, however.

This is quite listenable, but certainly not David Byrne at his best. The bar for him is quite high, I'll put it in his 50th percentile work.
I like this whole album. It's grown on me.

I hear ya. This is the only song in the last couple of hours on RP that I just can't listen to. I just can't stand Byrne's voice - no matter how hard I try. Makes me shudder.

I feel the same way. I never liked the Talking Heads and he seems to get worse as his career progresses. I was never a Brian Eno fan either so this album doubly sucks for me. I contributed my 1 in the ratings.

Oh come on, it's not that bad! I'm just not a Heads/Byrne fan either way. This song doesn't change my opinion.
Um, yeah .... no.

I love both these guys but this isn't just lesser than the sum of its parts, it's as if the parts cancel each other out.

Must be the Old Peculier talking but I can't help bobbing my head in rythm here... Chalk me up for bad taste but it's a 7 :D

I'd need at least 4 pints of OP and probably a malt or two to chase before this song sounded halfway-acceptable. Sober it's a headache. 2 from the Nottingham jury.

This album is deplorable.
