In your message you said
You were going to bed
But I'm not done with the night
So I stayed up and read
But your words in my head
Got me mixed up so I turned out the light
And I don't know how to slow it down
My mind's racing from chasing pirates
Now an ambulance screams
While the silliest things
(Are) flopping around in my brain
And I try not to dream
Up impossible schemes
(That) swim around, wanna drown me insane
And I don't know how to slow it down
Oh my mind's racing from chasing pirates
And I don't know how to slow it down
Oh my mind's racing from chasing pirates
My mind's racing from chasing pirates
My mind's racing from chasing pirates

if evoking a feeling during a song is a like of your human mind, Nora is your gal.
sweet voice, sweet girl- no heart or passion in her music methinks
1 point for having a St. Bernard on the cover!
I love Norah, she is amazingly talented and her voice is so soothing and unique.
I can't get past the fact that it sounds like Disco Lady
Nice little love song

I LOVE her. But not this song. Seems like she's sold out to pop; I can't blame her - I would, too, if I'm honest.

A 7.
I don't know what one of the previous posters is talking about. This is only the second time I've heard a song from Norah Jones' new album on RP, and it's been out for a while. I'd hardly call it overplayed. In fact I'd say hearing Norah Jones on RP is a relatively rare event, speaking as someone who listens for 3 to 5 hours a day.

Funny choice of clothes for chasing pirates. Oh, well! Off to Somalia with ya!
i wonder if here dad yelled at her for making this.
Like this song aplenty! Short, quirky and funkyilly sublime
I love Norah Jones when she does the mellow stuff, but I adore her in El Madmo when she does stuff like "Rock Your Balls Off" and "Carlo," neither of which is RP-appropriate... *sigh*

It always fascinates me to look at peoples song ratings when they post a negative comment about a song...
almost without exception, you could select a set of their '9' and '10' rated songs, and then make a great mix tape where the track they hate would fit perfectly among their faves

That synth riff always reminds me of McCartney's cloying "Simply having a wonderful Christmastime".

This sounds a lot like that other Nora Jones tune I hear here.

Pretty good song, although you don't hear much of her father's influence in it.

I think that most of the songs aren't piano-driven but instead are guitar/beat driven may be what she was referring to. That voice, smooth as silk as usual.
NPR interviewed her about this album not long ago. She says she was trying to achieve an edgier sound with this work. I'm not hearing it. Still smooth as silk.

Yeah. Many artists / performers aren't necessarily good speakers: KD Lang & Robert DeNiro for example interview terribly.
Love the song.
I heard an interview with her on CBC, the Q program. Although she's a wonderful singer and good song writer, she really doesn't have much to say...all I really learned was that the best part of her day is breakfast, she likes eggs.

Ew this sounds like 70's easy listening. Not a fan of this new stuff.

Oh, she will...
The dog on the cover brings me back to when I was 14 years old. Some neighbor left on vacation and he paid me a pittance to clean up after a St. Bernard (the dog was kept in a large chain-linked kennel cage). I'd move her from one stable to the next and clean up her dung. Rough gig!
Chasing irate pirates....
Nice! Me likey!
The most listenable piece she has ever recorded, though I am admittedly no fan.
The entire album is quite good.WXPN has a link on their homepage where you can listen to it if you are interested.
Oh, my, off to Amazon (via the RP link of course!) to order this.
I like this a lot more every time I hear it. Very soothing.
I predict a big hit for Norah.
if this song is any indication of the rest of the album- we want more!
I like it!

I never got this impression before with her earlier stuff, but I'm thinking she sounds more and more like Edie Brickell.
Wow, really nice.

PISHAW! This is excellent! Welcome back Norah!
Album seems to appropriately titled. "The Fall". A long fall from her previous stuff.
Wow, this isn't even out yet, is it?
