Going nowhere, quickly
I'm older, day by day
But still going back to my childhood way
Circuital
Round and round patiently
Getting lost by the guide
And I'm all worked up over nothing
Circuits
All in and out
Connect my body
Deep into the ground
Circuits
Connect the earth to the moon
And link our heavenly bodies
And not a moment too soon
Well you can fling open the windows
Or you can board them up
Satan's jeweled crown
Or Christ's humble cup
You think you'll find yourself out there
Out in the lion's den
In some bloody battle
Over belief systems
Or disappear into the vacuum
Total neutrality
Where you can't lose nothing
But nothing can be gained
Well anyway you cut it
We're just spinning around
Out on the circuits
Over the hallowed grounds
Out on the circuits
Over the hallowed grounds
Ending up in the same place
That we started out
Right back in the same place
Right back in the same place
That we starting out
Let her know
Like very much.
Like Coldplay, My Morning Jacket appears to be another contemporary band that, for the crownèd self-appointed arbiters of good taste, isn't simply not worth listening to, but strikes a certain nerve that cannot be tolerated without obnoxious ejaculations of disgust. Is there a clinical term for this phenomenon, a kind of group identification that is unified around an unfounded proclivity for negativity?
oh dear God....please don't put TepidPlay in the same category as My Morning Jacket for anything....
Where(fore) art thou, Romeo(Tuma)? I mean Lazarus. I mean, did you vacate the galaxy in your alien space craft?
Screw them! ...some people have no taste! .................
Another COVID side effect. Although I guess it means less of "this music stinks" if sense of smell is also shot.
The Green Eye was inspired by Jim James laser eye surgery.
or the green eye signal strength meter on my old Telefunken.

The only ejaculation appears to be the drivel you wrote. Now go wipe up.

Proclivities, maybe you could tell us. I thought you would be all over this.
Agreed! I was introduced to RP through a friend at work and I am so happy she did it! I am always finding myself saying "Oh man, I love this one!" Or "wow it's been a while!" And every so often I get to learn a new tune, love RP and Bill!
I know what you mean, have been listening to this station for four years, and have gotten turned on to a lot of people i never woukd have heard of, listen to a couple of freeform stations too, and has made me swear off commercial music stations
The great thing about Radio Paradise is I like most things that Bill plays. I don’t love them all and I dislike very few. It’s what makes great radio!
i love the variety and have discovered so many artist not to mention new world music. By far the best radio station I have ever enjoyed listening too. Thanks Bill and Rebecca Radio Paradise is a sound paradise.

I think the term you're looking for is asshat. I think that is the clinical term for those with that affliction.
i LOVE this band!
Me too!
I like this band.
i LOVE this band!
I don't know the clinical term, but generally it intersects with Pixies fans.
I recognize pain when I see it
Sendin my love
It is getting installed in this video youtu.be/GD-b5zbYMBI
In political terms, sheeple!

WFT does all that mean? MMJ is awesome and multi-meaningful... you speak of them as robots to please you in precise accordance/agreement with what's apparently "BEST" as if such a thing exists in music. My nephew's holiday show was robust and adorable, you would be the kind of person making shitty comments thinking it doesn't matter because they're just kids... but it matters MORE because they're kids. I don't know you, but I bet some people here do. I'm sure they agree with me that you would be a fucking DRAG at any live musical event.
Wow. You absolutely nailed it.
Ditto.
I sure like Morning Jacket. All mellow sounding and subdued but then these semi-raunchy guitar riffs and killer melodies.
Instant attraction.
Neither style detracts from my listening experience. I want it all!
That's not a pizzicato, that's string tapping.
Felix, you took the words right out of my mouth!

PS: this piano is soo stupid, I have to laugh! As terrible as voice and untalented guitar-work!
TEEEEERRIBLE!!!
Say - Don't hold back! Tell us how you really feel!!
Is this a good thing?

Called Cat Eye's on my Cary Audi Design Tube preamp.
Thank you - now I know why I absolutely (!!!!) dislike all three! LOTS!!!!
Yea I am with you though Fleet Foxes have a few good songs.
There should not be a stress-shift from the first to the second syllable due to the suffix "al", causing the dipthong oo-eh. There should never be a dipthong in the middle of a word, unless preceded by a fricative (see Jones, et al), hence CIR-cut-Él is the correct pronunciation.
I think we could go round and around arguing this.

Actually, My Morning Jacket has been doing the big-reverb-on-vocal thing since their first album came out in 1999. Bands like Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses are sporting a heavy MMJ influence...

Dude, ( Yes, DUDE!) stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. It's the pitch that is FF-like, not the reverb.
When your head explodes, that will have been too much reverb. Until then, it is just right!
Never saw them "live" but did catch them on the telly doing a small intimate set...unfortunately, I didnt think that it came off that well, especially the vocals.
I've missed MMJ twice now, and if I miss them again it is REALLY going to be a drag on my schedule.
Don't worry, they will play it again and again and again and, well you get the picture.
me too...and agreed. I am jonesing for another show!

I thought it was the death ray from War of the Worlds.
This is exactly what I thought on first seeing the cover picture.
ask any woman in america.
So they always play live inside of a tunnel?
I get it. That was intended to be humor, right?
Funny how he sounds exactly the same live.

With such a huge variety of songs to listen to, why do we keep hearing the same dreck over and over again?
Saw them in Charlotte, NC a couple of weeks ago. It was a rain shortened show, but wow, those guys rock. Incredible, incredible live band.
So good to hear that. I am really liking them ever since Evil Urges and they are from my neck of the woods so to speak. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see them at some point.
i only mention it because of all of the interviews i have seen and heard the band give concerning the album and hearing them pronounce it as i formerly suggested. i was saying it as you suggested before that but if it is their album i guess i will say it their way.
listening to these guys is always a happy experience in my hood. kanpai!

Either pronunciation is probably acceptable. If something is "of a circuit" (i.e., electrical), it would be caller "circuital", which could be pronounced "sir-kit-ul". You may also be equating "circuital" with the word: "circuitious". This is just a personal, style preference, but if I were going to "nit-pick" about grammar and/or English usage, I would use the appropriate application of uppercase and lowercase letters when doing so, but that doesn't seem to matter much anymore.
Good song, by the way. Happy listening!
I noticed the same thing. Listen carefully next time it plays. I heard them sing "sir-cue-it-ull".
I do !
Not really. I decided to let it go.
Saw them Tuesday in Philly and they were incredible. Played 25 songs for almost three hours. If they are coming to your town, make sure to check them out.

Wait... you are implying that anyone that says "No No No" in german (or according to babblefish.com "twelve twelve twelve", I'm not sure which is right but I always thought that it meant no) is automatically Hitler?
Who are you, Bill O'Rieley?
From Wikipedia...
"Godwin's law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies or Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies) is a humorous observation made by Mike Godwin in 1990 that has become an Internet adage. It states: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1 (100%)." In other words, Godwin put forth the hyperbolic observation that, given enough time, in any online discussion-regardless of topic or scope-someone inevitably criticizes some point made in the discussion by comparing it to beliefs held by Hitler and the Nazis.
Godwin's law is often cited in online discussions as a deterrent against the use of arguments in the widespread Reductio ad Hitlerum form. The rule does not make any statement about whether any particular reference or comparison to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that the likelihood of such a reference or comparison arising increases as the discussion progresses. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact.
Although in one of its early forms Godwin's law referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions, the law is now often applied to any threaded online discussion, such as forums, chat rooms and blog comment threads, and has been invoked for the inappropriate use of Nazi analogies in articles or speeches."
Thank you.

And I lost relatives defeating this putz. This IMHO wins the "Poorest Taste Post" Award. And the least you could do is learn how to spell.

What a concert!!! I'm sooooooooo jealousssssssssssssssss :(
We'll be there, too! (12 strong, in blocks of 4 ) We saw them down in Charleston last year. SO so fantastic!!

Yea, you and about a billion other people. If you are offended by that you may as well not even walk out your house bub. Grow a pair as well as a sense or humor or is it humour?
I always know it's MMJ when they get to the "howling in a wind tunnel" part of the song.
(For the record, I love MMJ.)

That's true - it is their album, so they get to decide on the pronunciation, I also had not heard any interviews with them. Nothing personal meant about the upper and lower case thing: it's just a pet peeve of mine.
Cheers!

i never type with caps. i can't be bothered, it's just faster and is my way on this site.
but, i am in full agreement wit you on your comment here.
I don't know if I should be waiting and letting the songs digest for a while before making a decision (after all, an easy song generally gets old quick), or just be ok with being slightly disappointed.

With some Ryan Adams ("New York") guitar thrown in.
Thanks Bill for the introduction to another great piece of music. Keep them coming!
