Say Goodbye
Bring me back the good old days,
When you let me misbehave.
Always knew, it wouldn't last,
But if you ask, I'd go again.
Yeah, I'd go again.
It's alright, it's okay,
I don't need you anyway.
You don't have to tell the truth,
Cause if you do I'll tell it too.
Oh, I'll tell it too.
Well, it ain't easy to stay in love
If you can't tell lies,
So I'll just have to take a bow
And say goodbye.
I'm loosened up, but it's too late to turn it around.
I'm dropping bolts on the ground and I'm coming unwound.
Don't you miss the good old days,
When I let you misbehave?
Why you're looking down like that?
I know that you dying to come back,
Please come on back.
Well, it ain't easy to stay in love
When you're telling lies,
So I'll just have to take a bow
And say goodbye.
Bring me back the good old days,
When you let me misbehave.
Always knew, it wouldn't last,
But if you ask, I'd go again.
Yeah, I'd go again.

Well...what can I say? I'm probably not her biggest fan but I'm close! Live forever honey and keep on singing!
It is so very difficult to separate my thoughts on this track vs my thoughts about Norah...keep trying to objectively listen and my eyes keep wandering to her photo and the album cover and then my mind drifts away...dammit, stay on task...
So, did anyone hear the "We are Siamese, if you please" song?
This is song is badass.
Put this song at 8 from 6
Enjoy this track, actually whole album plays really well
When I first listened to this song, I immediately thought about it, whose beat would have been slowed down. Well done Norah !

Nothing wrong with her looks as long as she doesn't bore me with her music.
Great breakup track - and album for that matter! Who in the right mind would break up with Norah Jones anyway?!?!?!

Indeed. Quite a good film, though I have not seen it in quite a few years. It preceded the band's existence by over 20 years.
Apparently based on a Russ Meyer film poster, rather than the band of the same name.

I'm in love with that album cover.

Do not blame Germany - Helgilein!
"Simple" and....fantastic!
10!!!
I always mistake this for Ane Brun when I first hear it. I like it.
PSD. Damn good music streak until now, though.

What a diverse musician.
Take away the drums and this becomes a decent song.
I like Norah. But this song is just bad!

She was in the movie Ted as herself. She has a great sense of humor - doesn't seem to take herself too seriously.

Edgy? This sounds like Taylor Swift. I think Norah and her management are mistaking musical devolution for evolution.
I say goodbye to the lazy, dreamy...safe 'smooth jazz' style and hello to the nice, slightly edgy Norah.

Experimentation is a wonderful thing and vital to creative growth but - for me anyway - in this song everything that provided Norah Jones a somewhat unique musical identity has been converted into boilerplate pop indistinguishable from the featureless mass of boilerplate pop already out there.
goodbye! the sooner the better....

Yes, agreed. Saw her on that iTunes Festival thing in England. This album did not translate well in a live setting. Lame as hell. She had no stage presence. Still, the album cover's quite yummy.
The A&R department said, "Norah, the talented jazzy thing isn't working... tart it up a bit would you? We can hit a demographic that is more your age."

Oh no! Norah has become Kylie Minogue... 5
Here's to Norah Jones, America's lovely sweetheart!
This whole album is really great. A gorgeous instrumentation, memorable melodies, simple but evocative lyrics, and her steamy voice. I agree, that Miriam is a stand-out on this album. I think it seems like the perfect follow up to her work on "Rome" with Danger Mouse...
No matter how "edgy" this tune, I still classify her music with Kenny G.

I was gonna give this a 7...but I bumped it up to 8 because she looks so hot on the cover. Very good album.

I don't think it makes me a snob for me to feel that Journey is one of the worst bands in the history of recorded music - pre- or post- "Wheel In The Sky". Don't even ask about Foreigner. This song's quite likable.
Sorry, if you're going to bag on the earlier Wheel in the Sky/Journey then you have to equally bag on this ( and I like NJ) This is a bit bland too.
I think the truth is there is some musically snobbery going on with Journey, it's as enjoyable as this.

"Remember me? I'm the oooooone who had your baby's eyes..."
Blueboy - Remember me.
Blueboy - Remember me.
Thank goodness for this new direction Ms. Jones is taking. It has more personality and oomph. Hope she doesn't stray back to the safe blandness in which she's usually wallowing.
I'm diggin' this latest from Norah. Love the different direction, that gal has the good goods, 4 shore.
I heard some folks critique that this album is a bit over-produced. I see/hear what they're referring to, but I kinda like it. It still retains its funk, which overproducing usually eliminates.
Groovin out here...

The cover of this one states it's been produced by Danger Mouse.
As for the previous ones:
The Fall: Jacquire King
Not Too Late: Lee Alexander
Feels Like Home: Norah Jones, Arif Mardin
Come Away With Me: Norah Jones, Arif Mardin, Jay Newland, Craig Street
Any ideas as to who produced this album vs older albums?

I am rather liking the new direction Miss Jones is taking lately. RP have played a few cuts off this album and every one have made me sit up and look. Another click to Amazon, another click for RP.
quite different to her usual stuff.. quirkier.. I like
This is WAY better

Wow. What a pleasant surprise from Ms. Jones. You have to give her credit for morphing, trying new sounds and textures.
Have not listened to her stuff in a while, but this is a little different from what I've heard in the past. I kinda like it.
For the moment, this is a 6. It might grow on me, though.
