Soldier soldier
We signed our lives away
Complete surrender
The only weapon we know
Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

We come from an ancient place
Beyond what we can see
We've come to colonise your night
And steal your poetry

Old man knows that I never listen
So how could I have something to say
Old man knows how to cheat ambition
You don't lose if you don't play

1, 2, 3, 4, was enough

Soldier soldier
We signed our lives away
Complete surrender
The only weapon we know
Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

On a double decker bus
Into College Square
If you won't let us in your world
Your world just isn't there

Old men says that we never listen
We shout about what we don't know
We're taking the path of most resistance
The only way for us to go

hup, 2, 3, 4, was enough

Soldier soldier
We signed our lives away
Complete surrender
The only weapon we know
Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

This is the site
This is the reason
This is where you can reach me now
This is the time
This is the number
This is where you can reach me now

A perfect exemple of U2 decline. There's so many other beautifull songs. Curious choice.
U2 has made some of the most incredible music in the last 50 years (I purposely include the "Beatles era"). Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree are easily in my top 20 favorite albums of all time. There are numerous songs throughout U2's career that i consider to be part of the soundtrack of my life...I'm saying this so I'm not lumped in with the 'haters'.

This song is awful.

to each his own.
A U2 song I actually enjoy listening to?  What's next?  Support for Hillary Rodham Clinton?  OK, now I'm just being silly....
Oh, Lord, what is this? (I  mean a cover)
I'll be at the final North American U2 Innocense + Experience Tour performance at Madison Square Garden, New York City on July 31st!  Can't wait!

I know... it's like a hive-mind of idiots.
Sigh.  It's amazing how bad U2 sucks now. Like, you can look at it and say  "Holy sh*t, that's an amazing amount of suck.".
good song!
As I write about my uncle, who got a medal in the Battle of the Bulge for getting a Nazi sniper that shot off his toes and killed his buddy, and who lived as a cowboy and daredevil motorcycle stunt rider after, but was forever scarred by War, it's apropos to hear this Poetry!
Looks like the sheep are following the U2 haters on this one.  Shame
Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Well, it's still the 17th on the West Coast, so, time to crack another Guinness!

Atrociously bad album cover.

What's so atrocious about a father hugging his son? Sorry, but I just don't see the problem.
Atrociously bad album cover.

Bad choice.  Why that kind of distraction?

More than one !

This one is bearable but it's not "new", it sounds like heard a thousand times already, there is no creativity in it, U2 has become seriously empty and boring and this new album is confirming it. It's like all they can do is repeat what they have already done. There is no evolution, or if there is one, it's going downward...
Meta critic seems to dislike Songs of Innocence overall. It's the worst album they have on there since the year 2000. My problem with U2 is that when they suck, they really are good at sucking. Having said that, Achtung Baby was awesome and The Joshua Tree is one of the finest albums ever released. So, just like every other group, they have their ups and down. They are masters of self-promotion, however. This is how they manage to survive 40 years on. They even managed to get a song from this terrible album onto RadioParadise.
I actually kinda like this song, reminds me of Doves a bit.  I usually bash U2, but I am not going to this time.

I am still pissed when I saw Bono in an interview years ago, and they asked what he thinks of the Beatles...he responded that "I think we have them on the run".  Even Edge looked over at him like he was crazy.  What an arrogant prick.  Buddy, you will never been seen in the Beatles rearview mirror.
I could never understand why this band was so highly rated, but this track plumbs new depths of awfulness.
R.I.P U2
Well that happened a long time ago
I wonder if they deep down know that they have completely lost it, but stubbornly still keep trying the same over and over?
U2, find the new honest you please. This is so hollow
Wow ... haven't had a song on RP make me not just reach to turn down the volume but go straight for the PSD button in a LONG time. First listen, too.

No wonder everyone was so up in arms over having this dreck shoved onto their iDevices without permission.
At least The Fonz managed to jump the shark.

These guys are swimming in a sea of retarded development.

What's up with the cover?
Is that Larry Mullen listening to some kid's stomach gurgle?

Not enough Edge on this album. I love him, but there is too much Bono talkytalky. Craving the guitar melody and shreds from Zooropa and Actung Baby!.

(controversially?!) I like the album, but I really can't get on with this track. Another please. Thank you!
Pretty bad for U2.
Rubbish track.  Don't like the cover, either, so I give the whole thing the thumbs down.  What has become of one of finest bands?
OK, I will leave a negative rating since this looks like a kind of promotion of this (quite bad) album, 5 plays in the last 30 days, and I am already fedup!

I thought it was Lance Armstrong. Pretty good tune.

So... who is playing the theremin? -  well... at least they make Natalie Merchant sound better in comparison.
{#Arrowd}{#Exclaim}
{#No} thanks!
Too much Black Keys copy cat!!!!
Everybody in my alien space craft loves this groovy song more than crunchy Quaker Oats...  we be dancing cross-eyed and buck naked like Willy Shakes...

Radio Paradise is the best radio station in this galaxy...

NO SPAM PLEASE
I really do like their latest effort — this song is rather a new sound for them! In all the songs on the record, the lyrics and beat move me...
This song brings to mind a favorite South Park episode, "More Crap".

Stan Marsh learns the secret of the world record crap:  Bono was never the record holder! He's the record!
Surprised
RIDICULOUS that the ROLLING STONE gave this album 5 points!

APPLE will pay back with lots of ad-money - you bet!

Room for one more?
I thought I was coming here to hate a song by Arcade Fire or a half-dozen other bands that all sound the same to me.  I had no idea it was the new U2 I was hating.  Sorry...
this is a very strong track combining the strengths we've come to expect from this classic group with some innovations and direction changes that make it fun to listen to repeatedly.

and all love to all the U2 haters.  its easy to take pot shots at Goliath while promoting the latest "in crowd" band that has about a 10% chance of having the overall impact these guys have had.

So love to you haters - U2 are still near the top of my all time list.

Exactly! No band deserve that treatment…well…except Arcade Fire…and anybody playing a harmonica not named Dylan…other than that - nobody!
Tripe.
Not everybody has appreciated to receive it without having asked anything. On the 500 million people, how many do consider this as a spam?

I won't vote negatively cause I know that majority will love that. But I don't agree with the way that trade, money, publicity can flout people and art. And I know that I'm the exception.

great song.
sadly, I predict PSD in the future....

First thing I thought, too.
took me a bit to realize this was them.  Haven't downloaded the record - hopefully will do so - or maybe even by the vinyl - very soon.

Good song .  An 8 on first listen

I agree. The back half is definitely better. This album has taken a couple of listens to appreciate it.
When did this come out?  Is it new?
Opening riffs sounded like the Stones Give Me Shelter.
Not bad for a free song
Another great one from their new effort.  Back half of the album are definitely the best tracks.
Doesn't really sound like them..... +/-
