His voice is Pearl Jam greeting REM. Very nice peaceful jam group. Thank you - I never heard of them. Love it!
✌️
Love this tune! He does a version with someone else playing the guitar (can't remember his name). THAT version is my favorite of this great tune.
Have seen DMB twice (Dallas and Toronto). VERY good live show. But too much crowd noise early in this recording.

Absolutely my favourite DMB song! My feet gotta move, my head gotta bob, and my body gotta jerk around every time I listen to it. I love this live version, but I wish there was a way to mute the whistling by the enthusiastic fans.
And hey, if you don't like this song . . . that's because you have different music preferences than me.

I am a DMB fanatic -- did B&Ps back in the day -- saw all the concerts near me. I'm from his local area so in the early days that was easy. NGL, though, I have never been a fan of Tim Reynolds and I think this is he on guitar. So, while I love the DMB here on RP, wow, I'd do without Timmy.
Live DMB is the best DMB! This is one of my favorites.
Now I know what "sucko barfo" means.
So for me this song gets an absolute 10 for the intro alone, then drops to a 7 for the song itself... and I was at this show at Red Rocks.
When that bass comes in ... damn.

ya man
This feels like a 33 rpm LP played on 45, though Matthews’ voice isn’t as squeaky as I’d expect if it were.
And yes, I know that idea dates me as an old curmudgeon.
For the record, I don’t usually mind DMB and I’ll happily admit to having bought a couple of their CDs.

So listening to this on exceptional headphones... this is pure ear candy. You have to love the combination of great sound engineers and Red Rocks. If you've never been there you must go.
Don't like the vocals. Beginning instrumental stuff was good.

that's hilarious.
i'm with you on NM and EV, for sure.
i met DM at the pittsburgh airport people mover around 1994 when people didn't really recognize him yet. he was pretty cool.
My personal hell will no doubt be populated by a supergroup of Natalie Merchant, Eddie Vedder and Dave Matthews. On a lighter note, a cousin in Seattle was chatting to a guy, and asked if anyone else had remarked on his likeness to DM...

sweet song.
i don't normally enjoy "jam bands" but i do like DMB a lot now.

Ja Wahnsinn! Was ist denn heute los! Sie spielen einen 10er Song nach dem anderen! Ich wollte schon längst ins Bett, aber so wird das nix ^^
Zzzzz.

Nice, I've just had the exactly same thought on my mind. Hadn't listened to this tune for quite some time but instantly knew the song after the first few bars. Remember back in the day I tried to figure who the Artist of that tune was and I didn't actually find out until Shazam / Soundhound or others became widely available.
Had this song on a mix CD I made decades ago. Not the live version. I didn't know anything about the DMB at the time but I still love this song.

I used to have a cake-box string guitar just like this! No one was impressed.

I don't about the lyrics or the melody... but I love the attitude
