concur with the Blur comparisons
I love the bass in this. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it’s Kiwanuka on bass on this track. Seems like a super talented person.
I could have sworn I was hearing a little-known Blur track. This musician really has some talent.
Very ‘60s retro, complete with distortion.
There is distortion in this production that sounds terrible.
Great song ... good composition. Overproduced. I can hear all those knobs turning! Oh how this abounds.
like it
Perfect
I hear more and more his music here, and I like it more and more. Dreamy, unusual, lovely melodies are good for hooks and a replays.
this gets better every time I hear it. got to be a good thing right?
an instant classic

I hear Jimi Hendrix
One of those songs that sounds like an old classic right off the bat
Sounds like Michaels's been spending a decent amount of time listening to The Beta Band. Not that I object. Maybe he just wants to sell his five copies of The Three EP's.
I like that Cowboy Junkies-style beginning! And yes, a bit of Blur in the way he sings and plays, too... It's a thrilling new direction for him, I think. What a talent!
I found myself wanting to sing along to this. It's an easy song to pick up, and the groove is very relaxed. Solid new track.
Nice! I thought I was listening to Beck at first.
I have a knee-jerk reaction to rate any song from him a 9. I'm sure it will eventually be a 10!
Sounds a little bit like Damon Albarn... definitively not bad. :-)
Likely just me but hearing this in the background I had initially thought it was Damon Albarn singing. Digging the song so far and looking forward to hearing more off his forthcoming album. Thanks RP.
Voice sounds a lot like Hendrix on this one, except he carries a tune a bit better.
I actually came here to see what Hendrix song I somehow didn't hear before after all these years.

This artist, invariably, makes me stop what I am doing to begin actively listening rather than passively playing in the background. Says tons about his talents...
Another great track from Michael Kiwanuka

On the one side it is the sound that I find so intriguing, there are so much different styles recognizable, but yet he makes them his own forming a new sound and style. So you can always say, that is Kiwanuka! On the other side there are the lyrics, which are always re-readable. There is so much hidden behind the words, that gets me back to it.
