Station Man
I've been waiting
Can you tell me
When we're leaving

Midnight train
Now is leaving

Engine screaming

ah, ah
ah, ah
ah, ah
ah, ah

Where I'm going I don't know
But you tell me I must go
When we're leaving I don't know
But you tell me now

I see it's coming
And bringing something
This train of lovin'
I see it's comin'
I feel it's runnin'
This train of lovin'
From ages past

Station Man
I've been waiting
Can you tell me
When we're leaving

Yes sir I like it . The stuff before they went off. In the late 70s I did nightshifts alone in a boilerhouse with only an old valve radio for company which had only 1 non classical music station and I remember desperate nights of being subjected to the likes of Leo sayer billy Joel the "new"Fleetwood Mac etc etc. Then a couple of years later a miracle. A DJ that scored lots of great new stuff from the UK and played it between midnight and 5am. The likes of The Fall. Magazine. Gang of four. Killing joke. Mekons. Psychedelic furs and others. Saved my bloody life. A few years ago I managed to contact that maverick and very popular DJ Barry Jenkin. He had been out of the industry a long time but I was stunned when he told me he didn't listen to music at all anymore !!! I told him about RP and to listen in. He told me someone else had suggested it too. So let's hope RP got him listening again eh.

"Nightshifts in a boilerhouse'?  Funny that Danny Kirwan, the composer, singer and guitar player in this song, played in a band called Boilerhouse before joining Peter Green et al.

Best album of them for me.
Just doesn't get old.

Mystery to Me is also killah.  Got that brand new, with two of three other  new albums in college in a barter arrangement.   Dexter Dingo, if you're out there, I still appreciate those albums!
Danny Kirwan had it going on, didn't he?

It is great to here some old Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green.

This is called continuos education. :-)

Or even continuous...
Love this era of FM but can't think of another band that had 3 great guitarists completely lose their shit.
When Lindsey left, I did too! Capitol D in dysfunctional band!

Green had left the band. The two guitarists are Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan.

Strange you would mention working in a boilerhouse. Danny Kirwan, the fellow who wrote, sang on and played most of the guitar on this incredible tune, played in a band called Boilerhouse before Peter Green took notice and invited him to join Fleetwood Mac.
I cannot even imagine 'not listening to music' anymore.  I would undoubtedly fall into great despair.  Music is the ultimate gift to my senses.  It nourishes my mind and connects me with my spirit   murr69st335 wrote:

Still a great band!! But, quite a different sound from their early stuff! Still give them mad props, for hanging in there for so long!
Love Fleetwood's bass.
Reminds me of some early Joe Walsh.

In a good way.

Danny Kirwan brought both crunch and sweetness to FMac with his lead guitar work and his songs. Check out his work on Future Games especially. A highlight. Underappreciated and due to his personal problems, not around as a contributor long enough.
Love this iteration of Mac.
Best album of them for me.

Dang, I never heard this one before. Thought it was Little Feat. Good stuff!
I knew a lot of the old FM stuff was good, but now i know i need to go back and dig a little deeper!
One of my favorite FM albums.
Wow is this fantastic song

'Round the last time FM was worth a damn...
Thought this was Tragically Hip until I looked on the RP playlist.  Didn't realize Fleetwood Mac could have been such a good jam band.
Hmmmnnn, don't really care for this one — sounds too much like the Rolling Stones to me.
This was fantastic and turned my head in 1970 and it is fantastic now - thanks Bill.

Wonderful, love it, just great.  The whole album.

Does anyone know if this is available for (legal) download anywhere? i couldn't find it on napster, rhapsody, itunes, or even spotify.  Lost my vinyl; now the only place I'll ever hear it is Radio Paradise!

Try the Amazon CD button on the song page. It´s only seven and a half bucks, and Radio Paradise gets a bit of that as a kickback for putting up the link. I picked up the CD like that. It's great music, especially for the road.

Loved it then and now. Perfect!

Never liked it then because it wasn't PG. Love it now, tho...great movement here.
It's been forever since I heard this tune and brings back soooo many memories.  I love it!{#Bananajam}

I forgot about this song!  Love it.

Mick FLEETWOOD & John M(A)Cvie, a great rhythm section, indeed!

awesome...

Could it be because Mick Fleetwood is the drummer?

I think Peter Green was gone by the time this album was being recorded.

  The  MAC  !     {#Guitarist}
MAJOR flashback.  only on RP!
Wow these guys were good - back then
Great song from a Great Album.
A listenable tune, though, \"Mystery to Me\" is my fave. Any Fleetwood Mac before the invasion of the bottle snatcher (Stevie Nicks) is just fine. \"Rumors\" is the most over-played, over-hyped album of its time.
Hey, don\'t feel too bad. This is the first time I heard this song and I also thought it was the Stones.
Oh my, I just realized that my whole life (which is becoming more considerable amount each year) I thought this was a Rolling Stones song. That\'s another thing about middle age. You realize how very wrong you can be. And, it cracks you up. Amazing.
I appreciate Mick Fleetwood more all the time - this is cool.

Never heard this before. Excellent music.
keep on playing FMs less well known songs.
this album started, what i think, is the most interesting period of fleetwood mac. most assurdly, the most under- played and underrated era of their music. starting with \"kiln house\" in \'70, \"future games in \'71, \"bare trees\" in \'72, \"penguin\"& \"mystery to me\" in \'73 and heroes are hard to find in \'74, there is alot of really great music that never gets heard. thanks bill for chipping away at that big piece of music that never gets played.
I gotta say... this is the first Fleetwood Mac tune I\'ve heard in years that didn\'t have me reaching for the dial to flee to another station (or the mouse to flee to another web broadcast in this case ;) ) not entirely unlikeable.
