Too many people going underground,
Too many reaching for a piece of cake.
Too many people pulled and pushed around,
Too many waiting for that lucky break.

That was your first mistake,
You took your lucky break and broke it in two.
Now what can be done for you?
You broke it in two.

Too many people sharing party lines,
Too many people never sleeping late.
Too many people paying parking fines,
Too many hungry people losing weight.

That was your first mistake,
You took your lucky break and broke it in two.
Now what can be done for you?
You broke it in two.

Mm-mm-uh-uh.

Uh!

Too many people preaching practices,
Don't let 'em tell you what you wanna be.
Too many people holding back,
This is crazy, and baby, it's not like me.

That was your last mistake,
I find my love awake and waiting to be.
Now what can be done for you?
She's waiting for me

Not Sir Paul's best day at the office by any means.

Oh, that my bad days at the office were this great!
Happy birthday Paul !

Percy “Thrills” Thrillington” was the pseudonym used by Paul McCartney to release in 1977 the instrumental version of RAM that was recorded 6 years before in 1971.

If you dig this tune and the Ram album in general, do yourself a favor and check out that Thrillington album - it's an absolute blast.
I believe this is one of the greatest examples of the whole being greater than the sum of their parts.  On their own, the members of the Beatles made alright music; but as a group they were transcendental.

Wow!  I could certainly see John interpreting the lyrics that way ...
A truly great album.  A little Beatles style still lingering, but none of the pop influences exhibited in his later years with Wings.
I think this is the first and last McCartney album that my dad bought when I was a wee lad (and now that he had 2 kids, I think record purchases were no longer in their budget). I loved it, while he wasn't into anything but his Beatles stuff. I have a soft spot for this album, and also The White Album and Abbey Road, which I heard a lot of while in the womb!
Another ex Beatles song that was overplayed
Thanks Paul Thanks Bill

Are you insane? This is up there with his best. Put on the cans and listen to it closely, the whole album, classic!
(And a pleasure to strum on the 'ol gueeetar!)
Just had to bump it up to a 10. Soooooooooo good.

Pretty sure John had issues with Paul long before this song arrived.

Uncle Albert has a permanent place in my growing up memories, and I had the single as well.

One of his best post-Beatles efforts! Brings back memories!!!

A 6.9 rating? For shame peeps!!!!!!!!

I was 11 or 12 when a classmate of mine in 6th Grade invited me over to his house. His older sister had just gotten this new record, and we all thought it was amazing, especially the lyrics. It was the beginning of my appreciation of just how vital Paul was to Music.
Fantastic song from a fantastic album. 6.6 for this is surprising. This is raw Macca. An easy 9.

Wow. A Linda McCartney apologist. Ya learn something new every day... I guess if you can suck a golf ball thru a garden hose you can get onstage REGARDLESS of musical talent...

First, I totally love this tune, including Linda's braying in the background.

Second, that was an amazingly mean comment there. Seems totally unnecessary.

Why no lyrics?
Guess ya had to be there. Indelible.
This is such a great rock song and the lyrics are great too! I love this song! Paul McCartney was still so great in the early to mid 1970's! :)
Paul: Most talented Beatle. Loved his music since '82 hearing him on MTV when I didn't even know he was a "Beatle" or who the Beatles were. If radio stations played George's music for 24 hours straight when he died, they sure as heck better play Paul for 24 days when he does.

Wonderful Paul McCartney impersonation by whoever that guy was that took over when Paul died.
Great song, but it needs more cowbell.
This song deserves a 7 at least.... Still has legs after all these years. Go Paul.....

Yes I've heard it but I didn't hink it was funny. If you've ever worked concert sound, or sung onstage you recognize what's going on on that tape immediatley. She can't hear herself in the monitor. Linda always got a bad rap, more so because people wanted scapegoats (Linda & Yoko) to blame for the Beatles break up, than anything else, IMO. Listen too all the Wings songs, Linda is the one singing the high harmonies on all of that. Even the best singer in the world is going to sound bad if they can't hear themselves.
Please - she could not sing. Period. I mean, God bless her and the fun and enjoyment out of life that her and Paul got, but I have heard that tape and it's hideous. I have nothing against her (or Yoko), for that matter, but unfortunately, she really had no vocal talent.

Always thought this was a fun little song. Still is. Paul doesnt need to be judged by his Beatles toons all the time. His solo stands fine on its own. Its only music after all.

POLL: Who is your LEAST favorite Beatle? 1) John 2) Paul 3) George 4) Ringo My vote goes to Paul

well said. it is very beatle like.
Not hard to understand why John couldn't resist making fun of Paul during this period.
Old McCartney solo stuff? Why not? Very good! I\'m going in London in 2 weeks. Anybody got a tip for me to see that Sir in person?
