(No mercy)
(No mercy)
(No mercy)
The riptide greets the water's edge
He says it's good to meet again
The sun is out, it protects us
It lets the fish in my belly swim
Five thousand years ago
We danced with the comets from outer space
It was our nature then, indigenous
And now I feel out of place
No mercy
For the goods that grace us all
We destroy what's in our path
No mercy/ah
Understanding of the purpose
Of the nature of the world
And then man came, we wolcomed him
With plants and food so eat
Tranquil rivers and tall pines for shade
Now all but obsolete
Brohter deer would beautify the woods
Amongst us all
And now he runs and lides from the hunter
To keep his head from the hunter's wall
No mercy
For the goods that grace us all
We destroy what's in our path
No mercy/ah
Understanding of the purpose
Of the nature of the world
And now the skies are covered up
From a blue to a shade of gray
A man in red many moons ago
Had a vision it would come someday
Five thousand years ago - the earth
We now deny
Was the greatest canvas ever painted
Under the eastern sky
No mercy
For the goods that grace us all
We destroy what's in our path
No mercy/ah
Understanding of the purpose
Of the nature of the world
The gravitational pull
Can never be wrong
But to live all as one
Has taken too long
Mother earth
And deservedly so
Has given birth to us all
And there's nothing to glow
But greed and corruption
Violence, pollution
Hate, a disease, a new constitution
We need to gather around
A global huddle
Give praise to the ones
That we lost in the struggle
And spread the love
Spread the love
Spread the love
Spread the love
Not mercy
For the goods that grace us all
We destroy what's in our path
No mercy/ah
Understanding of the purpose
Of the nature of the world
No mercy/ah
For the creatures and the fishes
And the people of the sun
No mercy/ah
For the concrete and the chemicals
Kills the nature in us all
Kills the nature in us all
Kills the nature in us all
(No mercy)

That was painful.

Now that you say it, not only does this sound like Seal/Kravitz, I'd LOVE to hear some (more) Seal tracks and at least one Lenny track one day....this one is enjoyable enough to me to rate a 7....Long Live RP!!
Yes I hear an amalgam of Seal and L Kravitz. And I suppose it is derivative but I liked it a lot, almost as much if it had actually come from a Seal/Kravitz album.

this song is just ridiculously bad.
first time i heard it it was just derivative. second time i actually listened to the lyrics. arghhh...

if you want some thoughful rap with melody, how about THE STREETS. smart sounds, unlike this. El-P also has some interesting songs. SUICIDE's new one has a bit of rapping. All of those acts would be superior to this. (I know this Khaleel is hardly rap - only going so far as to try to fit a formula. THE STREETS, EL-P and SUICIDE are the real deal, in my opinion, are the opposite of this poseur.
wow, el-p gets props on RP? yeah, company flow and his solo work are really unique. funcrusher plus is a classic, although i don't think a lot of people listening would dig it.
this guy sounds like a more flowery version of lenny kravitz, which is decidedly bad.
Actually, it sounds like the singer from Super 8 to me. A different feel, though.

Alot of people said that this sounds like Seal... I think it also sounds quite a lot like Lennie Kravitz... but that\'s just me...

He does sound a little like Seal. Michael Jackson?!?
