lift your head up out of your hands love
i can't take you anywhere
sometimes you give me all you've got to give me
and sometimes you act like you don't care
don't i know
the days are only
what we make them
don't i know
the nights go only
where we take them
you carry all my light about you
drawing deeply in the air
a choice, a fight, a call, a whisper
you always let me know you're there
don't i know
the days are only
what we make them
don't i know
the nights go only
where we take them an arrow pointed deep and directly
scatters on the silver soul
as if i never even noticed
i could be almost all the way home
don't i know
the days are only
what we make them
don't i know
the nights go only
where we take them

I think she is mysteriously pretty...
I bought this album when it was released. I had hoped to hear more from her. Lovely voice.

I find her voice so pleasing to the ears...
Wish she would make the very long promised second album. So glad I own this one.

Maybe you could stalk her out of retirement, Rabbi Phil! (Neko would get so jealous...)

I believe that's correct. I was a big fan after her first album and No Mermaid, but she's made no new records since this one. She disappeared to raise her family and has never reappeared. Musically a shame but you have to admire her priorities.

Did she drop off the planet? I really enjoyed this album and hoped for more.

Or maybe wue as in "you're going to wue the day you were born, you cwazy wabbit!"

Thought it was Kate Bush.
Did Lindsey Lohan reinvent herself as this?

It's too bad she's not still making music. I really like her stuff.

Yeah, miss her I do.
The whole album is a treat. It has the classic celtic sound with a modern hip feel. She seemed to fall completely out of the public eye. I too wish Sinead would come back.

I was going to say, even though I enjoy her voice, this song sounds awfully schlocky after Cat Power. But Moose says it better.

. . . what does her marital/hair/withchild status have to do with it?
Did you think that if she stayed single and you got into her music enough, that you could possibly wue her and have a fabulous celebrity life?

cheese biscuits.

and i still think this is the worse album cover, ever.

This is the more appropriate cover from the album that I have here.
Any word on what Sinead Lohan is up to these days? Really miss her music and voice.
Aloha,
roognation
Cool. Is Britney Shocked up next?
haha wow, for a second there i was thinking "wow, sinead oconner really got her act together..."

Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan had a baby without as much talent called Sinead Lohan.

'She was a redhead, no hair, just a big red head'
Don't really see the relevance though...
As for the song, it firmly falls into the OK category for me.
how does one discern a bald redhead?
Sinead Lohan? A bald redhead with an IQ of 1?

Fine vocals and texture. Breathes some life into the often colorless genre of singer-songwriter pieces.

This album has a number of very good songs that make it a real surprise and a pleasure. Thanks for including Sinead, and please keep her in rotation - including "Whatever It Takes" and the title track, "No Mermaid."
Very nice CD!
11/11/23 - This album is finally available on Spotify!
This album has been hard to find anywhere since the demise of CDs in the early 2000s.
Trust me when i tell you that the whole album is worth at least one listen-through. Great voice. Well produced. Lots of great songs on there.
