Room-dah-bee-boom the whippering dong
Room-dah-bee-boom the whippering dong

Now shut the door, keep down to south
Shut the door, keep down to south
Shut the door, keep down to south

Not any track is turning but The Race is in my head
I'm attacking the illusion but the stopping drives me mad

Time is running out and the illusion fades away
Time is running out another day is on its way

Another sun was shining and he knew he wasn't great
He didn't ever talk about he knew he couldn't wait

Are you ever gonna push me let me run and let me do
I need it and I'm ready and I haven't got a clue

Not any track is turning but The Race is in my head
I'm attacking the illusion but the stopping drives me mad

Fire away!
This is The Race!

Why? (Why?)

Fire away!

Time is running out and the illusion fades away
Time is running out another day is on its way

This is The Race!

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen
This is Billy McKloski from Palm Springs reporting for NBC Sports of America
Twenty seconds to the start of the thirty-first Formula race on a hot
sunny afternoon here in California

On the fast lane of the street I'm driving
Sometimes, somewhere, I'm arriving
Every day and every night

Why?
I need this race!

Count on me, I'm gonna win The Race

Not my kind of thing, normally, but you can't argue with the brilliance.
More Yello please! I haven't heart song from them on RP for  a very long time ...
OH YEAH!!!!!!

Oh yeah!
They're great
Dieter and Boris, what a gas!

Because... reasons.
Boris, the bloody genius
A high end audio show favorite.
I just always think of The Cutting Edge when I think of this song.
Yello!
These cats were all over the club scene. Please hit us up with their far superior Bositich, an 80s Downtown Dance Floor Anthem
This was used in the jingles so much back in the day. Never liked it then, don't like it now.

Have a listen to the Rhythm Divine by Yello with Shirley Bassey singing. That’s a great Yello track
Great hi-fi tester in its day.
The fast version of Kraftwerks Autobahn.
Ooooh Yeah!
This is SO much better REAALLY loud!
Sounds like a comedic impersonation of Robbie Robertson's solo career.
Where else do you still hear Yello? Love it.

3 out of 4 ain't bad.
But "Derivative"? of what?!
I have never heard of another band that sounds like Yello or vice versa.

Or "The Tingler" if you're a William Castle/Vincent Price fan... BTW, Castle was oh
so overplayed by John Goodman in Joe Dante's "Matinee"...

Tony in NJ
W.A.S.T.E.
SO ahead of it time!
Oh Lordie! This track didn't age well...
A very fun toon! I like the album cover:"I don't always wear a moustache, but when I do I wear two".   'o)
These two were originals, in my opinion. "I love you" "I know"
Didn’t realize they were swiss.
The neighbor is turning his apartment into swiss cheese (with hammer drill) soooo... just cranked up the Yellow!! :-))
OMFG I am having a blast this morning Bill! Thank you!

Shades of the original 9:30 Club on F. back in the day.
I remember being  at a hifi show at Heathrow listening to this on cd then went into another room and they were playing the 12" vinyl version, absolutely astounding, the cd wasn't (excuse pun) even in the race, went home and brought it the same day. Ricky.
So cool! I'd been reminiscing about Yello of the 80's, theirs being one of the first videos I'd seen at the original 9:30, perusing their website etc and youtubes this past week.
Thanks Bill!

Yeah, they love it! With and without irony :-D
Cool men from Switzerland without whom...
They started touring now...
Yello = Dieter und Boris = Swissmen  - - like me!!!!   {#Dancingbanana_2}
I love Yello SO SO MUCH!!!
{#Dancingbanana}{#Dancingbanana}{#Dancingbanana}
Ah,,, I get it... not just a random play... another crafty segue following on from Bjork's Big Time Sensuality... a very similar back beat.

You are crafty BillG.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Horrible earworm for me. Instant PSD

Yello.  You can tell their genius by the fact their songs never age and you can't date them.

"Total ripoff"? No, it's not really, though the two bands were contemporaries.

this is all so tongue in cheek, nobody can take them serious.

having a beef-farm in Argentina? no seriously!)
Prototype for Weapon Of Choice?
Trippy song, trippy album -- trippy time!
Nothing can compete with a rorty sax, is what she said, and she was right.

Works well for a Wednesday noontime too!

Yay!  Cutting Edge!  Absolutely it was in that movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPFBeyIHsPw

I love this clip - it takes all the highlights. "Cutting Edge" is still one of my all-time favorite "feel-good" movies. When I'm having a bad day/week/month, I make a big pot of macaroni and cheese and tuck in with this movie. And my brother snorts in disgust and hides in his bedroom with CNN. (How I wish I was kidding.)

That whole soundtrack is pretty awesome...

Cool song!!

All I really knew from these guys was "Oh Yeah!", thanks to Ferris Bueller... : )

Can't stop dancing in my seat - fun stuff!

Stop playing fun music ... trying to work here!

also the Swiss can be cool... not very often but sometimes..{#Yes}
by the way - I think it was a top ten song for quite a long time in the eighties in Germany

Mac McGarry was the host of Its Academic when I was in high school. And I am 60 years old.
Boogie saxman!  This is good!
Oh damn!  Right from the git go this song had me moving.  Me likey.  Has got that AoN appeal to it.

Garage? I think they were in Bjork's Basement Jaxx.

I must defer, this is outstanding! {#Yes}

No, uh-uh, this is not very good.{#No}
For some reason this tune just screams Leslie Nielsen. If he doesn't have his own theme music, this should be it.

Yes, exactly. Hopelessly dorky connotations when I hear the opening notes. Visions of psychedelic cheerleaders are dancing in my head.
"Toe-pick"

Playing just as Alonso wins first F1 race of the season. Are you watching Bill?

Like a cool Robbie Robertson. I like!
Oh no. I can't listen to this!! It was used as background music for a car dealer back in Southern California. Now it sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. Do you think Yello could sue?

Yello's "Oh Yeah" was also used in Michael J. Fox's "The Secret of My Success" during a seduction scene. Not an outstanding movie, but it had some hilarious moments.
