Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
It's coming on (Poof)
It's coming on
It's coming on...

Yeah... Ha Ha!
Finally someone let me out of my cage
Now, time for me is nothing 'cause I'm countin' no age
Now I couldn't be there
Now you shouldn't be scared
I'm good at repairs
And I'm under each snare
Intangible
Bet you didn't think so, I command you to
Panoramic view
Look, I'll make it all manageable
Pick and choose
Sit and lose
All you different crews
Chicks and dudes
Who you think is really kickin' tunes?
Picture you gettin' down in a picture tube
Like you lit the fuse
You think it's fictional
Mystical? Maybe
Spiritual
Hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy
Lifeless
To know the definition for what life is
Priceless
For you because I put you on the hype shit
You like it?
Gunsmokin' righteous with one token
Psychic among those
Possess you with one go

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on

The essence, the basics
Without it you make it
Allow me to make this
Childlike in nature
Rhythm
You have it or you don't, that's a fallacy
I'm in them
Every sprouting tree
Every child of peace
Every cloud at sea
You see with your eyes
I see destruction and demise
Corruption in disguise
From this fuckin' enterprise
Now I'm sucked into your lies
Through Russell, not his muscles, but percussion he provides
With me as a guide
Y'all can see me now 'cause you don't see with your eye
You perceive with your mind
That's the in (motherfucker)
So I'm gonna stick around with Russ and be a mentor
Bust a few rhymes so motherfuckers
Remember where the thought is
I brought all this
So you can survive when law is lawless
Feelings, sensations that you thought were dead
No squealing, remember
''That it's all in your head!''

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future

My son got me into Gorillaz ... I think he already has most of the new CD on his MP3 ...

Well, I clearly have come in at the end of a long and spirited discussion. Heydy-ho, everybody! I must say I find this tune QUITE catchy! I at first thought it was Beck -- who, of course, everybody loves -- but then discovered it must be by someone else who is of the "rap" persuasion, and has been met with a great deal of hostility. Anyho, I am still enamored of the beat and sound, and I even found the "motherf**ker" references in the lyrics to be something of an eye-opener. Toe tapper, that! I give it an 8, because I AM FEELING LUCKY. Heydy-ho, all! Must pull up my lime-green pants and get back on the links.
It's a side project of Damon Albarn from Blur. CW stands the test of time, as does the rest of the CD. Also Gorillaz vs. Space Monkey CD is good. They have a new CD coming out very shortly.

I don't listen to rap and don't have any rap albums but I do think it is relevant and, hell, I even enjoy it. Maybe we could have some Eminem in the future, Bill?

I've read through nearly 3 years worth of comments regarding this song (including my own from a couple years ago) and have no idea where you get the notion people are facist or racist simply because they dislike this song. Puuuleeeeze! Get off your self-righteous high horses. Go hug a freakin' tree or something. Just sayin'. Not all rap or hip-hop is bad. I dislike this song due to the plodding, lethargic beat and the dearth of musical ability displayed. The monotonous vocals don't help, either. I don't give a rat's ass about the color of the artists' skin or their country of origin. Sucky music is sucky in any color, language, or flavor you choose.

Paid attention to the beats and the words. Tried to view it as an artform. Resultant perception is as follows: still sucks. Call me ignorant, call me closed-minded, call me whatever the hell you want, but you're still not gonna shame or browbeat me into liking annoying music.
ick.
Very very catchy, but the lyrics are utterly mindless.
I like it. Used to turn it up in the car, when it came on the radio.
Let's sic Dirty Harry on these guys.

The shoeshine song! Though it was used in a gum commercial, not that I like it any less
This may have been discussed already but, is there a reference to Clint Eastwood IN the song or what? Why the title?

This tune is awesome. Del (aka Del the Funky Homosapien, aka Deltron 3030) has lyrics that just blow your mind. This isn't the best example of what he, or the Gorillaz, can do, but it's the best i've heard on RP. Props to RP for actually trying to branch out in to other areas of music and art, instead of just pigeonholing into "rock" (eclectic as it might be). Bourns to all the detractors who aren't willing to open their hearts and their minds to new and interesting music.
I love this station for its diverse selection of music. I don't particularly care for this song (see my post of "ick"), BUT I must defend those of us who don't care for it. I am MOST willing to "open my mind and heart to new and interesting music"...it would be hard to listen to RP all day, every day, without this ability. However, I still reserve the right to "judge" a piece for myself. And I find this to be simply OK...not even that interesting. Sorry.
I'm always amazed at how rap hits the hot buttons of non-blacks. The anxiety it causes! Its an 8 for my lilly-white ears. C.
this crap should stay on MTV & BET!
it's borderline annoying.
I love it.
Don't know why ... I like It
Love the groove! Guess I am a sucker for melodicas. 8)
(pimp) To each their own. Personally, I love it.

Now, come on. Who really thinks this is "Godlike"? The downside to the rating system is that doofuses have access.
I think, "crap", said it best. This stuff just drones on and on. Sort of like drool.
Most tolerable...and will always remind me of my ex... :sunny.gif:
This song ain't bad, but I think it's more fun if you watch it with the flash video. :)
solid
This song is actualy kind of Halloween-y when you consider the ole' music video for it...

I don't normally care for rap. This song did nothing but reinforce that opinion. Sucks.
Thanks for playing this! I love the mix of the beat and the croon... it's dynamic and mesmerizing... Keep it up even if some folks are out of their comfort zone with rap (which this is such a mild example of).
ick
I found this interesting when it came out. Unfortunately several music chanels tried just a little to hard to force us to like this. Needless to say, this had the opposite effect on me. <-( Still, Interesting video.
you know. i never liked this one. even when it was new. but, to be fair, i never listened very hard to it, either. i should; maybe i'll grow to appreciate it. as it is, i'll give it a solid 5, because while i don't like it, i never really gave it a fair shake, either.
Well said ploafmaster!
I think what most peeps need to realize is that you can't quantify each individuals' tastes in music. And you know what? We have an influence in this playlist, but we don't write this playlist. So like it or hate it, let it play. Comment on it if you like, but silly childish arguments over the quality of a song, musician, or genre don't lead anyone anywhere. Ciao, The Dude
I don't normally care for rap but have always liked this group, I find it very creative.

Okay, so I can recognize the creativity and style, but it doesn't mean I wanna listen to it. No big whiff though, considering the number of times it's been played in 2004.
I like it. It's not what I would normally listen to, so I find it engaging (admittedly in small doses).
Wow, have to say I'm surprised by the amount of intolerance that is seeping out of the RP seams on this one. I never listen to rap on my own, but I LIKE the groove of this song. Hey friends, eclectic means ECLECTIC; the more genres we're able to bridge here, the better. As with the rest of RP music, as long as its intelligent, innovative, and generally respectful (e.g. not misogynistic) I'm happy to hear rap on the playlist.
words fail me, so.....
I LOVE the Gorillaz and this is a good song... but there are quite a few better songs: 19-2000 The Sounder Tomorrow Comes Today Latin Simone etc...
What a stinking pile of crap.
Future segue? Gorillaz--Clint Eastwood Cake--Frank Sinatra Bree Sharp--David Duchovny Bananarama--Robert DeNiro's Waiting(Talking Italian) King Missile--Martin Scorsese OK, I'll stop now

I second that. Monotonous beat, not much of a melody, innocuous barrage of words. IMHO - I concur with those Yucks.

WORD!
YUCK
wow. never thought i\'d hear del the funky homosapien up in the RP. mediocre song, though. if you want some more del, pick up \"no need for alarm\", which is an oft overlooked classic. actually, tell you what... if any of you are really interested in good hiphop, but just don\'t know where to start, hit me up at bachapman3@yahoo.com and i\'ll see about making you a little mix cd. you cover shipping and the cd itself, and i\'ll send it out. think about how bad rock radio is... if you listened to any clear channel bullshit all you\'d hear is the swill they\'re trying to sell. same way with rap music. you can\'t find the good stuff on the radio or mtv... maybe you\'ll still hate it, but at least you gave it a chance, right?
This is not rap in any traditional sense of the word. As a matter of fact, it\'s more hip hop, but not even really that. It\'s got a funky groove, it\'s got rap elements, it\'s got hip hop elements, it\'s got an infectious chorus... If I remember correctly, some of Gorillaz vocals are provided by the lead singer of Blur, another band that makes some good music...
What is this? Oh yeah, my fingers work and so does the mute button! I\'ll check back later when this has been flushed.
In general, I'm not a rap/hip-hop fan, and this song didn't really turn my head or particularly catch my attention. I do agree however, that it's never too late to teach an old dog like me new tricks. 8 Mile opened my eyes (and tastes) somewhat to the nature of the beast. That said, isn't rap music an oxymoron?
Everyone thought Disco sucked. Rap takes the prize for suckyness.
I don't know why, but I have always liked this song. It just gets my head to bopping!
this is weird. I forgot I already commented on this song but hearing it again sounds pretty good. Now I\'m wondering what I was thinking when I made my last comment.
Radioparadise is definitely ECLECTIC alright! I couldn't handle this alot though!!!! :D
Hey man this is a cartoon band - give them a break I saw Paula West (great jazz/cabaret singer) last night in SF and she did "Trouble Right Here in River City" from the Music Man as a rap song from 1957 and it was fun, So don't be afraid - Expand your mind!! :D

so much GREAT music on this station... does this really rank? On the dance floor / Come on, we\'re making money / Talks to me funny .... hmmmm, does not do much for me.

RP is a garden. Lots of the stuff I hear here (here here!) are fruit and flowers. This one\'s a weed. . .
Normally I only comment on what I like....trying to be positive and all that. However, call me whatever you want, but I don\'t get hip-hop, I don\'t like hip-hop, and I\'ve yet to see any indication of talent in its creation. I see it as just another indication of the growing trend towards mediocity. Yawn.
nope, don\'t like it.
I get the feeling some people may not be as open-minded about their music as the station they are listening to.
Oh come on guys. Have fun with it.
no rap please - just stick to MUSIC

I had to register before I could do this--anyway, I\'m not what you would call a \"rap fan\", but I did find myself dancing around my kitchen to this one. I just found out about radioparadise.com and I have to say--I love the music selection. Not ever tune is my favorite, but what a great mix. Thank you.
I think I know why I kinda like this song....as pointed out ..most rap is rehashed old hits and butchered....this is not rap done to someone else's music looped over and over...This..Like Rage Against The Machine...this is original music...played by musicians. and I think this is what is meant by eclectic: Now Playing: Peggy Lee - Fever Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood Augustus Pablo - Point Blank Tori Amos - A Sorta Fairytale an eclectic mix if ever there was one
There\'s good stuff in every genre. I\'ve gotten past my blind hatred of country music. Can other people get past their blind hatreds of hip-hop and rap? Admittedly, this is not the best song rap and hip-hop have to offer, but it\'s fun. It really is. Give it that, at least :p

One's age has nothing to do with whether or not a song just inherently sucks.

i\'m glad to hear this one again. kinda missed it.
the best button ever invented is the one marked "off" ...this is as annoying as most other rap music; rappers don't interest me, don't catch my attention, don't leave a "mark" of any description, don't make the station, don't improve d' nation, don't inspire me to love or increase dis vibration, and dats mutha furknig WORD! ...b'atches!
How load do we all have to shout? THIS SUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKKSSSS!!!!!!! I love RadioParadise, but this song is the obvious odd man out. I hate talentless (c)Rap or (s)hit hop or whatever they call it, they blatently steal good catchy tunes and destroy them for the benefit of drug addict losers. Please do not play this EVER again!
There are occasions such as these where the video definitely helps the song. You must see the video to appreciate it fully. And to all those out there who immediately scream that it sucks because of the rap, get the images of gangster rap losers out of your head and give it a chance.
This one sux bad - even worse here than on FM since it\'s here I come to retreat from stuff like this. Please pull it.
I don\'t know whether to cry or just throw my computer out the window. This deserves a zero.
They way overplayed this in the cool-kid, hip-teen stores like The Gap and Sketchers. However, the music mideo for this is very good. Ground-breaking animation.
cool. i love exploring different genres, finding new music to like or hate. this i like, but then i didn\'t have to wait for RP to play it for me to find that out. definitely ecclectic stuff. now if i can just get some DJ Shadow uploaded and accepted. then listen to the fossil snivelers. lol
i will agree that this needs to be put away for a couple years...but the cd is actually good. the guy from Blur and a few other interesting musicians are involved in this Gorillaz project. and its not all rap...i think some people might be surprised. but, its not for everyone. and i certainly haven\'t pulled it out to listen to in over a year.
bad
If you have this on a MP3, DELETE it. If it is on a CD, make sure it ends up in the local city dump. This by far has to be the WORST tune I have heard on RP! Keep playing the good music, but make this one go away. If I want to hear rap, I\'ll turn on the local radio and suffer through that.
Enough of this song! It\'s not by a long shot getting any better after being played over and over on the commercial radiostations :(
Cool song but it is a bad version or something, it is skipping bad
Please make it stop.
