Money for nothin' and chicks for free.

Now that ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb.

We gotta install microwave ovens custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators we gotta move these color T.V.'s.

See the little faggot with the earring and the make up
Yeah buddy that's his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he's a millionaire.

We gotta install microwave ovens custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators we gotta move these color T.V.'s.

We gotta install microwave ovens custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators we gotta move these color T.V.'s.

I shoulda learned to play the guitar
I shoulda learned to play them drums
Look at that mama she got it stickin' in the camera
Man we could have some fun

And he's up there, what's that?
Hawaiian noises?
Bangin' on the bongos like a chimpanzee
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Get your money for nothin' get your chicks for free.

We gotta move these refrigerators we gotta move these color T.V.'s.

If you don't like it, too bad!  Learn how to use the "skip button"!  ...problem solved!  And you can spare us from your drivel!   A LOT of RP listeners seem to LIKE IT!
 LoL!
While nothing beats the original, I appreciate the balls and creativity required for this piece.  These guys must have been fun to see live!

ROFLOL

very far better than the original!!!!

Solid 10 for sure.

Granted, but that's in the original lyrics.

This is fun!  And hilarious!
I like the dire straits but this was never their best song. This is a nice improvement and a really good arrangement, but maybe a little too clean.
Oh, I get it. Link to Barenaked Ladies is the million dollars. I can only imagine what will be next. Unrated. Unless I have to hear it again soon.
Sadly, it's too late for a Leonard Nimoy version.    Shatner is available, tho...
The use of 'faggot' is repulsive.
a welcome humorous respite on an otherwise stressful Monday. Thanks Bill!
Stop it.  Just stop it.  Never play this again.
Of all of the ways to cover this song, this is definitely one of them...
WTF?!
It is kind of entertaining though.

Anyway, that was actually fun. I was like "what song is this? And how come I recognize it?". Then I was like "Ooohh yeeeaahhhh..Dire Straits."

Ditto
Oh, my god, this is so awful.  ::PSD::
Worse than I originally thought. From 2 to 1 it goes.

Wow. Stupendously awful.
Very funny! Now... I hope I never hear it again.
This is a brilliant takeoff on the old Tennessee Ernie Ford song - I love it! (I can understand those who are not familiar with that old chestnut of a song not getting this song tho.)

I...um...I...aah...oooook...
Nine 10s? Some people have strange gods...
I think this is a scream. For those of you truly offended, check out Big Daddy's take on Sgt. Pepper's.
I can't decide if this is supposed to be a satirical song or not. I'm picturing some high school jazz students sitting around recording this.
why? why was this produced, why has it made it to RP? With so much good music and so little time, why Bill, why??
There is absolutely nothing of merit in this song. Time to switch to another channel for the rest of the day.
...meesa likey!..
terrible

Homophobia alive and well? I agree with the poster who said this song needs to be put down. Kill It.
While this cover is indefensible, the original lyric is intended to be satire about a narrow point of view held by a type of person, not a shallow homophobic stab.

How about some Hayseed Dixie?
This would be humorous to watch in a coffee shop. Did not need to be recorded. Ugh. Every time you think it's over, it just keeps going.

wtf?
Big Daddy - Money For Nothing Pink Floyd - Money Big Audio Dynamite - The Bottom Line 1-10-1 only on RP...
funny cover :)
wow... i can't believe this... sweet... though I think Richard Cheese is better...
Homophobia alive and well? I agree with the poster who said this song needs to be put down. Kill It.
If nothing else, this song gets comments. -dave
I'll listen to anything once, but please, not again. This song needs to be put down like Old Yeller.

Yep, Kind of like listening to Weird Al, or Primus. Good for the humor, not for the musical content, but humor only takes it so far. -dave
Weirdest cover ever.
other than the deliberate mispronunciation of "refrigerators" i like this one. for some reason by about the 3rd time i hear "refrige-re-ator" i get annoyed.

16 tons of crap?
A bit Amos and Andy.
wow...i get what they tried to do...but it didn't work.....
WTF????????????????? ???????????????????
This needs to be followed by Nigel Russell's "White Collar Holler".
hee hee hee! fun a few times a year. I can see this as a really bad, kitzchy video, complete with shiny, skinny suits and slicked hair....

Unfortunately we're up to several dozen plays by now. Even a brilliant joke wears thin with repetition.
I need a "OMGWTF?!" rating.
Perhaps the worst song ever heard here. WTF?
Not that I dislike this mind you but I'm having visions of a bunch of guys and gals wearing boots and hats, deer skin jackets with lots of long fringes, on the stage at Nashville at the Opry...... with Tennessee Ernie Ford as back-up singer.
Is this to the tune of 16 tons ?? sortof ?? how appropriate.
Kinda funny, kinda clever.
Richard Cheese does stuff like this better
Sshhmooooovve Daddy!!
Wasn't this used in a recent General Electric TV ad? (the one with the coal miner girls?)
Thank goodness! This brightened an otherwise dark and cold early Saturday morning. I came to the comments, expecting all kinds of hatin'. Fortunately, it seems like the vast majority of folks have enough of a sense of humor to appreciate this. My faith in humanity is restored.
Lets agree that Money for Nothin is what levered Dire Straits into the mainstream (and the very over mixed Industrial Disease). Big Daddy's version is kick. I look forward to hearing it again in about 6 months (not sooner please).
Very nice. Exceeds the original by far. Like the choral allusion too.

Could like this more than once in awhile with a little Leon Redbone tossed in. Rickie is working nicely though.

I never understood the appeal of Dire Straits and I think this gives a bad song the treatment it deserves.
I am a big Dire Straights, Mark Knoplfer fan, but I have never liked this song. The sum total of Mark Knopfler's work is soooo much better than this song represents in my opinion. His guitar work and subtle but powerful story telling and ballad writing is phenomenal. This version of Money For Nothing actually found a way to be a lot worse than the Dire Straights version! It bloweth mightily. I am very stingy with the "Sucko Barfo" rating, but this one gets it.
excellent cover!!!...super creative!
Hi-larious!!!
This is amusing ONE time.

Inspiring.

Lighten up people - this is pretty funny.
Love it.
Laughing my ass off right now.
"we got to move these refrig-ree-ators" love it
Great smile-generating piece for 9am. Yow!!!
How could anyone not like this song? It's a great tune and it's covered with a sense of humor. An outstanding combo all around.

"Sixteen Tons of fun!" Tennessee Ernie Ford is clapping from his grave. Beautifully eclectic!
What a travesty! I think Ernie's vomiting in his mouth in his grave.
The greatest Money song of all time (Money by PF) followed by the worst Money song of all time! Good golly Miss Molly!
wait..you gotta dig the concept that these guys did with this band...Big Daddy was a band that got lost on a USO tour of Viet Nam...came back years later without ever hearing the orginal tunes and played them according to the styles noted on the sheet music and in the styles of the 50's and early 60's things they played...it's really pretty brilliant.

Please RP. Overplayed Floyd Money followed by this? Not clever. Not witty. Just stupid and annoying.
sense of humour, anybody?
I LOVE Big Daddy!!! Funny thing is I played some of their early stuff for Knopfler years before they covered this tune. Check out the Everly Brothers styled take on "Super Freak". You'll cry from laughing.
Make it stop. please. This is awful. Shouldn't a cover be played because it's good, not simply because it's a radical departure from the original? Can we add '0' to the rating scale?
I like this. Wouldn't want to hear it every day or even once a week, but it's pretty funny. The original was a definite sell-out on Knopfler's part, though.
Any song with a clarinet in it is automatically awesome, I think, this one included.
Eeek
Please RP. Overplayed Floyd Money followed by this? Not clever. Not witty. Just stupid and annoying.
This is funny stuff.
and I sold my soul to the company store... Great melody version of this tune. People get a "cents" of humor
I'm laughing so hard my co-worker is worried about me. It's best put on very light rotation though.
This is awful. I'm amazed 7 people had the disfunction to rate this a '10'.
Some songs are so bad they are good. This song is so bad, it went clear around the toilet bowl and ended up at bad again. Bill: please flush this turd of a song once and for all so we don't have to hear it again!
I like it. A sense of humor is an important thing to have.
My least favorite Dire Straits song just got worse.
This style works great for the lyrics. Gets old quickly though.

This is funny! Tenessee Ernie Ford meets Frank Zappa (Thing Fish) and Dire Straits! Yeah. Sure you do.
It reminded me of Thing Fish as I listened too....this is a fantastic version! "Refridge-re-ators" I just love that!!
THIS IS AWESOME!!
this sucks
Am I the only one who finds this amusing in context of the overall seriousnes of this mix? I think it's a great addition!
Why, RP, why? Whatever did us listeners do to deserve this? Please forgive us and never play this again.

Hm. Bad.
Oh. My. Stars. This is like Dr. Demento gone bad or something...
Birthstone on little finger. Blister on thumb. Get it right or go home.
What the hell? Terrible
Utterly brilliant. And completely wrong.
