WRONG!!  The song is about a spoon playing street musician!  Do some research!

Correct! Artis the Spoonman:

He plays on this track as well.

Wikipedia article just kinda glosses over Cornell's death. Kinda weird.

You do realize that all the bands who were labeled "grunge" hated that label, right?

Not
Always loved this song, great band.
Always loved the drums in this one.
it's great, just one of their lessers, imo. there are so many better soundgarden songs that william should look into playing. especially since he plays a lot of audioslave anyway. more soundgarden, please.
Hella great thumpin' rock track.
Nice
Artis the Spoonman performed at my highschool in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1990 or 1991, I didn't really know what to make of it at the time, he looked pretty out of place. He performed to some Joe Satriani track but he commented that he actually preferred Satriani's 'Surfing with the Alien' album.

Actually, ode to a spoon-playing street musician, Artis the Spoonman, check out the Wikipedia article.  To me it's like a great, updated, grunge version of Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man (lyric-wise).

Great tune!

Yeah!
Another of the RamFish favorites to play on Rockband, now firmly 'back in the day' though I've been thinking of re-upping on whatever the current PS4 version is these days....LLRP and RamFish!!

Why should one be at the expense of another?
Ode to a heroin dealer. How cool is that?
Great rock and roll. Maximum drumming thumping thunder. To the initiated, if played at high volume, it could well cause a massive headache. I say, crank it up!

Hip hop & rap are a revolution in music and rhythm.

Grunge was always a great evolution of existing Rock forms.

Now...what could this song be about? Rest In Peace Chris. Thank you for this gem of a song.

AWESOME
Whenever I see a spoon, there is about a 33% chance that this song will start playing in my head.
I might have played this album one too many times.

Cool.  Even though it's August, a fire in the fireplace would be great right now.  That's what you meant, right?

Surprised I like this so much... almost feel guilty. But why?

soundgarden is one of my alltime favorite bands. however, i am shocked that it is being played on RP. just doesn't seem to fit in at all. i'm blown away. i am willing to bet this doesn't go over well here.
i used to play this entire cd when i was cleaning my house. or, was that the badmotorfinger cd? well, no matter. one must be in the right frame of mind to listen to soundgarden, i think.

One of my least favorite Soundgarden songs.  They were a good band all the way through, but definitely started out stronger than they finished.  1st album rocks your socks off man!

I love the syncopated beat to this!  I've had it on my iPod for some time.

Never expected to hear this on RP. Good Tune. Let's hear something off Badmotorfinger
Agreed. Searching With My Good Eye Closed, Holy Water, Drawing Flies. I love those songs and I don't think a single one of them ever hit the airwaves
I am sure that I\'ve lost some hearing due to playing this CD too loud at home, in the car, and at work wearing headphones. Love the energy of the whole thing. Haven\'t dusted it off for a while - might be time when I get home :)

Nothing mysterious. He's a semi-famous spoon player, who goes by the name Artis.

you are a person after my own heart. badmotorfinger is something else. i can't much listen to any of their stuff after that...well, here and there. and cornell imho is a god. did you know he helped work on jeff buckley's Sketches of My Sweetheart The Drunk? he and jeff's mom did a lot of the song choices etc. pretty cool.
Very cool to hear stuff on RP that rocks as hard as this. One of my complaints about regular radio is they\'ll play the anemic \"Better Man\" by Pearl Jam, but none of the tunes that made them what they are. Not sure if Soundgarden has anything that wimpy to play on corporate radio, but it\'s great to hear some of the real grunge here.
ROCKIN! (pimp)
i've always considerd this song somewhat irritating. i do like some of soundgardens tunes, it's just the heavy leanings grate on me.
This rules. Cornell back in the day (\'88-92) could flatten a room with his voice. He started blowing it by the time this was recorded (93). Badmotorfinger has some vocals on it that are not even human - I love that stuff.
Not a great song, but it does rock. Got me to turn my volume up.
YEAH! The best soundgarden tune. Surprised to hear it on RP. But happy, nonetheless
I saw \"the spoonman\" when I was in high-school in Indonesia back in \'92, was quite surprised to see him appear in a Soundgarden song and video afterwards.
If it rocks, I\'m happy to hear it. This rocks.
rock on !!! Spoon solo !! :D

Upon further listening, I really don\'t like the vocals but I do like everything else. The music is tight. The vocals really do go well with the music, but they are just a little too harsh for my ears. I definitely would have liked this in high school though :)
