I've got money in my pocket
I like the color of my hair
I've got a friend who loves me
Got a house, I've got a car
I've got a good mother
and her voice is what keeps me here

Feet on ground
Heart in hand
Facing forward
Be yourself
I've never wanted anything
No I've, no I've, I've never wanted anything
so bad...so bad

Cardboard masks of all the people
I've been
thrown out with all the rusted, tangled
dented God Damned miseries
You could say I'm hard to hold
But if you knew me you'd know
I've got a good father
And his strength is what makes me cry

Feet on ground
Heart in hand
Facing forward
Be yourself
I've never wanted anything
No I've, no I've, I've never
wanted anything so bad...

Got a house, I've got a car
I've got a good mother
and her voice is what keeps me here

Feet on ground
Heart in hand
Facing forward
Be yourself

Heart in hand
Feet on ground
Facing forward
Be yourself
just be yourself
just be yourself

Feet on ground
Heart in hand
Feet on ground
Heart in hand

This is what I listen to Radio Paradise for - great variety of music that I probably won't hear otherwise.

My Favorites brought me here.  Negative comments below mostly.
Never heard of her before RP,  obviously sometime ago.
It may be a little "over polished"  - but I kinda like it.
I'm pretending this was never played on RP.
What is this manufactured-for-FM drivel doing on RP?
Why is Jann Arden being played on this station!?!?! AAAHHHHHHHHHH! This better not be a sign of things to come, because I could listen to any adult-contemporary Canadian radio station, instead, to get this garbage. Please never play this again.
I felt like I should have been shopping in TJMaxx. What happened to the great vibe you had going? Wow- that one was surprisingly bad.

yep; one & the same
yikes. RP got all girly all of the sudden.

Yep - Jann was around long before Alanis and as much as I admire Jann Arden, I'm very surprised to hear her on RP. She pretty middle-of-the-road musically IMHO. She's one of the funniest women around.
A new low for RP. Quite possibly the worst song I've ever heard. Sorry. Just being honest.
Wow... for a moment I thought I was listening to my local "Light rock, less talk" or "Easy listening at work" radio station. Ick. I give it a 2.

What is this? The Sleepytime set? Last few songs aren't really bad, just kinda boring. Sounds like she's channeling Alanis Morrisette. She could at least pick someone interesting to copy.

I just recently pulled out my cassette tape of Jann and played it over and over remembering why I bought it. So, Thank You Bill!

Here here!!! I normally only rate songs that I like, however, I felt compelled to login to to Radio Paradise to give this song the ol' "Sucko Barfo"

Going to have to agree with that, this is HO HUM at best.
Sappy much?

I am a sucker for a great female vocalist with thoughtful lyrics.
Ok, she has a nice voice but this song is completely mediocre.
very nice song :)
For a second there I thought this was Paula Cole. Thank god it isn\'t.
Jann Arden has a really beautiful voice. I have this CD and it\'s pretty good.
