Past the road to your house
That you never call home
Where they turned out your lights
Though they say you'll never know

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

When they pumped out your guts
Filled you full of those pills
You were never quite right
Deserving all the chills
They say the worst is over
Kicked it over again
Then they ask what went wrong
When they turn you on again
When they turn you on again

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

Kick them right in the face
Make them wish they weren't born
And if they bring up your name
Will they say you won the war
Baby burst in the world
Never given a chance
Then they ask what went wrong
When you never had it right
No you never had it right

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

Oh the letters have dropped off
Though they say you got them all
I finally figured out some things you'll never know

Take back your life
And let me inside
We'll find the door if you care to anymore

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

I remember running through the wet grass
And falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

This evokes sweet 90s memories of my college youth!
Frat bro rock at its finest
SUCH a fun live band. very dynamic performers. thanks for bringing this back, william!
Better than anyone says they are, Better than most of the other 90's bands that were around during their best years.

Prove me wrong!

Hahahahahahaha!
hey yeah, heay yeah, oh no, oh no no no, blecch
I've seen them in concert three times, very good live band. Very entertaining.
I never thought twice about this band until seeing them at JazzFest - they're a fixture - and they were awesome! I'm not that excited about their recorded output, but they're excellent musicians, with lots of energy and humor

I love BTE! We definitely need more BTE!
Luv BTE, play more. This is not my favorite, some other stuff would be great.

A very fun live band. They do a great cover of "Miss You" by the Stones.
I'm usually not this negative but I'm not feeling today's playlist. Didn't this band die in the 90's??
my cat's name is ezra.
Dang it, I like em!
It was boring when it was new, and its intolerable now that its been so played to death.
I enjoy BTE and they're fun to see live.
I love this song.
Formula rock. Which came first, Ezra or Live?
This isn't my favourite BTE song... but I"m glad that RP plays them... there are definitely some better ones out there, though...

I can see how BTE would sound if this was the only song I'd ever heard from them. Listen a little more, they have lots of variety. Which may very well land for you as cheap rip offs of everyone else. Enjoy. ;-)
Well, BTE's Extraordinary sounds like a ripoff of Sublime's What I Got, so there ya go.

I happen to like this band, but that's still a funny comment.
"I remember" this song. Been a while.

(Wonder where these NOLA locals are today.) Glad to see them in a come-back phase.

Live is a bunch of arrogant jerks

saw 'em last year... kinda of a guilty pleasure for me. but i still think deluxe is the most enjoyable album to date (i haven't heard Before the Robots yet though...)
I had no idea that Better Than Ezra and Live sounded so similar. Can stand either of them.

No doubt. I was about to post who "who can't name this band in 3 notes." Then I realized it was NOT Live. I completely forgot about this band.

This song needs to be followed up by Live - Shit Towne. Sadly, it's not in the RP library.
you could always upload it. :)

i never thought this band sounded like Live until I heard this song. This song reminds me a lot of Lightning Crashes though... Kind of strange lyrics.

HOLY CRAP that's hilarious :-) But I don't think all of those bands in your mish mash sound alike. Some of them do... Anyway, I love this song. Good high school feelings.
big fan here. apparently the guy i share my office with at work is too because he sneaks over and turns up the speakers every time it's played. heh

As long as I never hear that "wah a wah a wah aaahh" song again. No earthly excuse for that.
This song is about Sigma Chi fraternity pledgeship at LSU. It's a huge fraternity house hit at Southern colleges.
"Better Than MOST!" An 8.
puke, ugh, blech, ptooooeeeeee! STOP PLAYING THIS BAND, PLEEEEAAAAAASE!

GREAT band to see live! (and they sound nothing like Live, to me) you can really tell they enjoy what they do. kev and tom are always smiling when they play to the crowd. i love to see that.
