I'm an ocean
In your bedroom
Make you feel warm, make you want to re-assume
Now we know it all for sure
I'm a dance hall
Dirty breakbeat
Make the snow fall up from underneath your feet
Not alone, I'll be there
Tell me when you want to go
I'm a meth lab
First rehab
Take it all off and step inside the running cab
There's a love that knows the way
I'm the rainbow
In your jail cell
All the memories of everything you've ever smelled
Not alone
I'll be there, tell me when you wanna go
So (sideways falling)
(More will be revealed my friend)
(Sideways falling) Don't forget me, I can't hide it
(More will be revealed my friend) Come again, get me excited
I'm an inbred
And a pothead
Two legs that you spread inside the tool shed
Now we know it all for sure
I could show you
To the free field
Overcome and more will always be revealed
Not alone
I'll be there, tell me when you wanna go
So (Sideways falling)
(More will be revealed my friend)
(Sideways falling) Don't forget me, I can't hide it
(More will be revealed my friend) Come again, get me excited
So (Sideways falling)
(More will be revealed my friend)
(Sideways falling) Don't forget me, I can't hide it
(More will be revealed my friend) There's a match, now let me light it
I'm the bloodstain
On your shirt sleeve
Coming down and more are coming to believe
Now we know it all for sure
Make the hair stand
Up on your arm
Teach you how to dance inside the funny farm
Not alone
I'll be there, tell me when you wanna go
I'll be there, tell me when you wanna go
Come again and tell me when you wanna go
More will be revealed my friend

Wonder what would happen if RP spun some Fishbone?
For example:
Sunless Saturday
Swim
Freddys Dead
Behavior Control Technician
Party At Ground Zero

Although not a RHCP fan of any notoriety, I find myself liking this one. Goes to show you that if you depart from the Corporate Swill, as RP does more as a rule than exception, you find nuggets everywhere you look.
Found the name for my new rock band......
Continuing the trend of awful, amateurish, sloppy cover art to look trendy.
Great band, but their music gives me a headache.
I was saying to myself in the intro this sounds like someone ripping off a RHCP song. I look, and what do I know? They're ripping off themselves!
The Four Chords.
It's a personal bugaboo, I admit, but I always find it admirable and amusing when they try to write a song with an actual, discernible melody. With enough practice, maybe he can hit some of those high notes one day.
Audio Eargasm.

I know exactly what you mean, and I tend to love many of those types of singers. But I don't think he's one of them.
(Still, even I love one RHCP song: Taste the Pain.)

Close, but no cigar. Blech.
Mmm. I like it.
I'm glad to see they're maturing and not trying to be what they were. :sunny.gif:
I usually like Peppers, but this definitely needs more spice. Meh.

But on this track, at any rate, the guitar work, if it can be called that, just plain flat out no holds barred completely sucks. You know, to me, that is.
Can't say I agree with a lot of the comments but that's OK.
By the Way is a stellar album imho.
Oh, big Mike Patton fan here too...

as a mike patton fan - i have this to say to anthony keidis:

Agreed, I'm truly saddened by the death o' the peppers. You can't even tell that Flea is on this album (least what I've heard here).
One lame ballad after the next. :P
What about the title track? When it shifts up-tempo, it's all bass.
I'm with the pro-new-peppers camp on this one. The new albums are just like the old ones, they have some steller tracks and some pure crap.
yesss yessss thank u RP!! Let's hear RHCP more often!!! :2dancingbananas:
Man. Ol' Anthony cannot carry a tune in a paper bag.
My emoticon of choice pleads, STOP!

I saw the Peppers in here in St. Louis in May. What a great show! (pimp)

I believe they have done this song before. How Long/ How Long?
Love the peppers - each album seems to bring a new level to their music.
Marginal at best.... who stole the Chili\'s and put these guys in their place?

My sentiments exactly!

I wish I could pinpoint the exact day RHCP started to suck so bad....used to be a favorite of mine, now I find them so trite (ie \"let your love stream flow\"-what is that about?)

Wow. These guys are getting old. :p I can still remember being blown away by Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Mother's Milk... I couldn't imagine back then that I'd be hearing anything like this from RHCP.

Hard to imagine these guys have been around for almost 20 years now. sh*t... I'm getting old...
The tracks that have been uploaded are some of the mellower tracks on the album. I imagine they were chosen that way to try and best fit the RP format. This album does have more rambunctious stuff on it, though if you're more of a fan of the "crazy funk-rap RHCP" than of the "melodic, harmonizing, Frusciante-influenced RHCP", you probably won't like it any more than you liked _Californication_ (though _By The Way_ is a better album).
As for Flea, he's definitely there. I like the arpeggio-type structure he plays into the chorus. It's not aggressive slap-n-pop, but it's still badass, Flea-like bass playing.
