Deep river runs its course
To a warm horizon
Shadows of falling leaves
October moon and rusty skies
Ever changing feelings
The seeds of autumn in my mind

The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun
The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun

Hiding summer's age no more
No more leaves in summer sky
Turning dark on empty car lots
When summer was my only friend

So you're back this way again
Winter's one breath away
So you're back this way again
Winter's one breath away
It's turning cold...

Like the hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Feels like its just begun
The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun
The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun
The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun
The hiding sun, like the hiding sun
Feels like its just begun.

I'm sometimes surprised at the naivete of some of you who for some reason get stuck on technicalities, like this song because it is not a complicated piece. Get real, get a life, get perspective. Even Beethoven wrote simple beautiful songs, like the Moonlight Sonata that most 3 grade pianists can muddle through.

I'm a classically-trained pianist, and I'm here to point out that "most grade 3 pianists" cannot "muddle through" Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.  They may be able to muddle through the first few bars or, if they are really assiduous, the first movement.  But the second and third movements are for the experts.  Moreover, "muddling through" is simply striking approximately the right notes at approximately the right place with approximately the correct phrasing.  That is not music, but mechanical reproduction.

It isn't either! Call it anything but dnb or house. Melodic trance is probably the most accurate description.
Perfect timing! I was hiking and biking in a T-shirt and shorts just a couple days ago, and now the snow is gently falling on this Thanksgiving Day 2023, and I'm cooking up a storm. -- Autumn TacticsThanks, RP!

I listen to Radio Paradise when I write articles and books. I am a media expert, university professor. I know the history of the radio station. This is my favorite inspiration. A playlist for me. This track is especially with me. I fell in love with the beat. Chicane's music is the art of listening. Thank you for being my beloved Radio Paradise. Greetings from Poland, from Otwock near Warsaw,
THIS SONG!!! It makes me so happy, no matter how tough times get, this takes over and makes me smile again!!
Played way too often, imo.
Greate melancholy song!
First I think Suzanne Vega, which is fantastic, and then I find it's Maire Brennan. I first heard of her through Clannad, who still have a special place in my heart. bumps it to an 8 for me.
Edit for "whoops! I was wrong."  Although I love Maire Brennan, and she does sing on this album,  these lovely vocals  are  sung by Justine Suissa.

While I agree with your main point, Moonlight Sonata is far more challenging than you think it is, especially to play all the way through and have it sound good. It changes keys, the timing in some places is tricky, the chords are complex... it's hardly a 3-4 chord little ditty.

The first movement of the Moonlight Sonata is approachable by an intermediate pianist (but such a rendition is generally painful for the listener).  However the second movement is harder, and the third movement is fiendishly difficult.

I don't detect any autotune on this track. Ms. Brennan has a lovely natural voice.
I'll say it again...this makes me happy and want to dance...and drink champagne
This song makes me really happy!!!!
Sunset vibes and a big fat one✌️Greetings all😎

Buddhist monks learned centuries ago the pleasure and benefits of even repeating a simple word, Om, and how that could soothe the soul. Music is much the same, in my opinion, it serves many purposes, to rouse the troops into battle, inspire a football team, praise the gods, celebrate love and sex, and sometimes, just pleases the soul, bathing it in simple sound. In regular rotation here but so uplifting! I'm chair dancing at my computer. Thanks Bill!
Back when I was a just a middle-aged whippersnapper I discovered this newfangled station on the computer which played music the family liked. Sitting at dinner overlooking  people walking dogs and enjoying the evenings, we felt that we were in a small group of people who had discovered a quiet revolution. A radio station without transmitters, adverts, ebullient hosts voicing inanities.
As a small-time fixed-income supporter, I say that this is money well spent.
And I still like this track from the early 2,000s.
Не знаю, чем меня привораживает эта мелодия. Возможно, я ее слышал, когда мне было около 25 лет и сейчас мои ощущения - это просто рефлексия на то время. В любом случае, мне она нравится. Спасибо.

To outpedant a pedant, it's not House music. An electronic beat does not a House track make. Ask Jack.

It's just supposed to be a backing track - a rhythm from the rhythm section.  The backing track is likely not aiming to be anything especially profound - it's a component of the song.
Great Dubstep track lol

As the cottonwoods blaze along the creeks in the low-angle autumn sunshine, and the snow clouds stack and build up on The Divide, it's clear that the seasonal change is underway. I was just thinking of this super-cool song last night, and how perfectly it fits the mood!
Was only two or three years ago I was seduced by the boots n' pants n' boots n' pants n' boots n' pants genre. I was watching some Burning Man YouTubes and the sound tracks pulled me in and so I Googled around for them. The only time I'm not streaming RadioParadise is in the wee hours of the night / morning when I turn to Mark Newport and his Deep House tracks streamed on

The most regretable part is that the same beat and sounds as "Don't Give Up" feat. Bryan Adams have been used here, prompting some doubts about the ability of this IT programmer to copy/paste any new sounds from his library presets.

Super little song. It's the end of a gorgeous Labour Day up here and the lyrics make me want to get the X-C skis out and apply a base coat.
Chicane ? Where do you find these bands ? I love Radio Paradise. It's Radio Surprise. Christmas night every night.

Masterful (and unexpected) transition from Michael Kiwanuka. Bravo Bill!

Also, it bears repeating that the whole album is great. A down-tempo tour de force.

nah, it's a fail when it's a top 40 song that's hiding the effect to cover for a singer who can't, or is too lazy, to hit a note (or, when it's used by a singer who can actually sing, but it's used just to sound au corraint. Yes, I'm talking to you, Mr. Coldplay) but here, it's pretty obvious so I assume it's used as a texture. Anyway, the rest of the tune is fab.

It sounds more like a phaser/flanger effect (which long-preceded auto-tune) to me, but even if if is an auto-tune device, it's done to create a "sweeping" effect more than it is to disguise possible pitch inaccuracies.  I don't consider the use of auto-tune being a "slap in the face" of anyone, particularly musicians (who may or may not have integrity); it's just another recording effect.  I suppose we all hear different things though.  In answer to your first question: Just about anyone can say "auto-tune".
Can anyone say auto-tune? Fail, this song and all songs using auto-tune as a pitch correcter are big slap in the faces of all true musicians with integrity.

FWIW, I never tire hearing this tune. It's just got a great groove to it.
