You're older than you've ever been
And now you're even older
And now you're even older
And now you're even older
You're older than you've ever been
And now you're even older
And now you're older still
Time is marching on
And time is still marching on
This day will soon be at an end
And now it's even sooner
And now it's even sooner
And now it's even sooner
This day will soon be at an end
And now it's even sooner
And now it's sooner still
You're older than you've ever been
And now you're even older
And now you're even older
And now you're even older
You're older than you've ever been
And now you're even older
And now you're older still

I am still decoding the deep lyrics......there must be more to it than this? No? Then they are taking the piss.

While I'm in the minority with this opinion among TMBG fans , I thought Mink Car was their best album since Apollo 18. Especially after the dreary, overproduced John Henry and just fair Factory Showroom. Each track on MC effectively bends genres. While it may not hold together as an album, it is a batch of strong tunes.

I love these guys because 1). they're goofy as hell and 2). they're from the town next to my home town, but if you're not in the mood for their..."singing"...the gag gets old pretty quick. A little more musicality and sophistercation, fellers.

When is this playing again, PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSE?
Yah, I get it but I don't want to be reminded of it.  Music shouldn't bring on anxiety!!

Love TMBG and I can definitely relate to this song...!
We all need some silliness now and then. Bravo!
LOL
Don't hear enough TMBG.
HAHA!
The logic of this song is inescapable.
Must be somebody's birthday today?
This song would be more appropriate tomorrow.

OMG. Put a fork in it. A musical gag that makes me gag.

"Flood" and "Apollo 18" are two of my all-time favorites, but I sort of lost interest in TMBG after "John Henry" came out. Their quirkiness normally doesn't bother me, but this one was just strange. Maybe I'm just not in the right frame of mind right now? How is the rest of this CD? Anyone?

good depressing joke !

They might be giants, but they're not big and this song's none too clever.
Yes Tubas the long forgot sweetness
Ah, yes, They Might Be Giants . . . what other band can generate comments like "witty truth" and "disarmingly funny." And, even when the listener finds the song somewhat "annoying" still has to "like" TMBG. As David Letterman once said, "When will we know?"

Great song! And with crumhorns, yet!
Yeah, where else would you hear a crumhorn and fagotto (early bassoon)??
yes, there's an annoying aspect to it. but how can you not like they might be giants? i mean, really. you just have to. :nodhead:
Witty truth, I like it.
A cute little number that cut's through our usual mode of denial regarding the transience of life. Disarmingly funny, but think about it. Not much musically, but deserving of exceedingly occasional play, a little "fickle-finger-of fate wild card in the mix.

Great song! And with crumhorns, yet!

This song is delightfully stupid Could be played a little bit faster though.
It's much better live- after the third verse they freeze in place for maybe thirty seconds while John sways back and forth in silence... And yes, the whole thing's faster.
this ain't funny enough to redeem it from it's lack of musical value: 1
Great song to play at birthday parties.
"Sucks" has too few letters to express how bad this is.
Thanks, I needed that.
Welcome to the future! Was it what you expected? How about now? How about now?
CLASSIC! ALWAYS GOOD :sunny.gif:
This song is delightfully stupid Could be played a little bit faster though.
His nasally voice irritates the snot out of me.
Beginning of this song reminds me of the keyboard scene from Close Encounter of the Third Kind.
This song is an ageless, timeless classic...to think it took this long to surface!
I used to be a big John & John fan, but TMBG started heading down the toilet with John Henry, and haven't managed to crawl back out yet. This is just more of the same. Makes their earlier stuff look even better.
Shouldn\'t they do this one just a little faster?
Its magically craptacular
I think the newer "No!" CD is much better than this one. Mink Car was a pretty big disappointment for me.
this song just gets more, er, relevant as the minutes tick away
