Well I live with snakes and lizards
And other things that go bump in the night
Cos to me everyday is Halloween
I have given up hiding and started to fight
I have started to fight
Well any time, any place, anywhere that I go
All the people seem to stop and stare
They say 'why are you dressed like it's Halloween?
You look so absurd, you look so obscene'
O, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
It's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world
Well I let their teeny minds think
That they're dealing with someone who is over the brink
And I dress this way just to keep them at bay
Cos Halloween is everyday
It's everyday
O, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
It's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world
O, why can't I live a life for me?
Why should I take the abuse that's served?
Why can't they see they're just like me
I'm not the one that's so absurd
Why hide it?
Why fight it?
Hurt feelings
Best to stop feeling hurt
From denials, reprisals
It's the same it's the same in the whole wide world
And other things that go bump in the night
Cos to me everyday is Halloween
I have given up hiding and started to fight

Classic 80s tune, a little synth and a good whack on 2 and 4. Takes me back to university holding a rye and coke on the dance floor...steady hands in those days.

Perfect right this moment!
I remember this song from I was a teenager. The dishwasher @ the Bed and Breakfast use to play it @ work. He was into some really unusual stuff and I loved it!
Well, this song is pretty scary.....
I almost wrote the exact same thing again today...

A nice relic and pleasant change. You guys could play this more than once a year and it would be ok with me.
All you haterz can just eat me. This song kicked so much ass in the 80's - still my favorite Ministry song.
Quick, put a stake through this song's heart! ....Wait, maybe someone already did...
Every day is NOT Halloween. Apparently we should, musically at least, be very, very grateful for that fact.
You've got a great laugh, Bill.
But this song sucks.

This whole album is great no matter who made them do it.
ministry said after they went all industrial that the record company made them do this.
So they say, but this is what they sounded like when it was released. Sucks when your past comes up to bite your industrial ego in the ass, eh?This whole album is great no matter who made them do it.

Well I guess this means we won't hear Ministry's Jesus Built My Hotrod anytime soon.

Huh. I think RP is curing me of my '80s hate, because I rated this a 2 a couple of years ago. Bumping this up a bit.

I'm digging this. Thriller would be cool too!

I have such fond memories of Ministry....I don't know the beer comercial.
Love this. Perfect for Halloween. Everyday.

I loved this song, even before the beer commercial
ministry said after they went all industrial that the record company made them do this.
i recognised the "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaow" from Get Up Offa That Thing by James Brown, it reminds me of the muppets, makes me laugh.
... And that e-mix should be played on Halloween only - if...
Still love this song after all these years. Too bad they only play it once a year.
Anyone who's familiar with Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy will be amused to know that the background vocals sound like they're saying "Slartibartfast".
Anyone who's not familiar with Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy can bite me.
brings back good mammaries
looks like it's played but once a year, go figure, have I missed thriller today?
Holy CRAP!! /Strong Bad voice/
Ministry!!! Never thought I'd hear them anywhere. . .
Holy cow, I haven't heard this in 20 years!
Can't talk now... having a little flashback...

Sweet! I kept wanting to hear this, but I thought it didn't have a chance in hell of being on here. I guess I was wrong.
Apparently you just need to check in on Hallowe'en.
I've been waiting for this all day!!
so, this song only gets played on halloween?
guess that makes it correct then
Sweet! I kept wanting to hear this on RP today, but I thought it didn't have a chance in hell of being on here. I guess I was wrong.
Well I guess this means we won't hear Ministry's Jesus Built My Hotrod anytime soon.
i've been wanting to see these guys live forever, believe it or not they are still touring. some day...great one to hear today..
It might not be "real" Ministry, but it's still a great tune to get ys movin.
One Of the best Halloween party songs ever. And Im not just saying that. Ministry are great.
...love the faux British accent...
This is a good song to play on Halloween.
Bill ought to play some Ministry, too.

Ahhhh... another classic... I love it!!!
Play some real Ministry and let's really scare some people!
ahhh yes... a halloween playlist must-have.
i too, remember a lolapalooza when ministry's music incited tribal behavior in the crowd. 40 foot flames shot up as people burned the pressure-treated lumber fence. i witnessed a crowd surfer get dropped and saw his arm snap like a pencil. THAT'S the ministry i dig! great woods 1991 i think.
pop-ooh-ooh-poppy-poppop!
I saw Ministry in 90 or so in San Francisco on Halloween! Loud and plenty scary.
hah! from the ministry era that Jourgenson would like to pretend never existed.
I love the band\'s heavy stuff, but this super early pop is just too damn funny.
Eclectic at its best! Thank you for the memories!
these earlier cuts are indeed much lighter and more \'poppier\' than the crazy industrial death rock they followed this up with
as i understand, ministry was always a real heavy band and their first record label made them lighten it up
i too remember a post-lallapoolza ministry concert in denver in 1991 when they played behind a 20 foot chain link fence and had two burning cauldrons on either side
i had to take a breather from the mosh pit when one of the many ministry band members decided to dive off the top of the fence and land on my head
good times
Well, Al isn't one to be told what to do, number one, and number two, he had a whole other level of creativity he wanted to carry out. His muse was Metal/Industrial Metal. He has often been called the "Grandfather of Industrial Metal."
The reason you haven't heard from Ministry in the past 30+ years is most likely because that super hard rock may not be your flavor. If you are looking for a comparison you might think of Rob Zombie, although I consider Ministry much more creative.
Al is getting to retire (sadly, we all get older and need to do something else). He has been on tour some this summer playing songs from those 1980's years that he has been hating on for so many years. His older fans have come out in praise for this because they remember Ministry when....
When he puts Ministry to sleep, he will be focusing on creating musical scores for films. As I understand through a friend who is close to him, he is working on a musical score for a documentary called LONG KNIFE about the true story behind Killers of the Flower Moon. Go the Ministry website for more on that.https://ministryband.com/tour https://ministryband.com/tour
