holy-smokes flashback to Sunday mornings "Abbott and Costello" movies on channel 11, and Daily News Comics splayed across the rug,
Andrew Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald and other musical cameos in those cheesey black and white goofball movies
fun piece of time travel

Should be 'Bei Mir Bist Du Schön' not 'Schon'. 'Schon' being already, 'schön' being beautiful. Translates literally as 'with me you are beautiful', probably means 'to me you are beautiful'...
...Can't help but imagine those wide-eyed monkeys and long -necked cows doing some weird safari/barnyard swing #....ewww , and those 'vision lines', the spaghetti limbs..... (gag).

this must be the oldest song played on paradise. i'm old... but not as old as this song.
Don't forget about Ludwig!
Great harmonies. The Flying Neutrinos do a cool version of this, btw.
Originally from an old Yiddish musical. You can hear it in the melody structure.
What a treat! I first heard about the Andrews sisters to my first In laws, and since then I totally liked them...
Ah, when men were men, women were women, and the sheep were afraid....
Rum and COCAAAA-COLA!!
8O

A crack lover that loves the Andrew Sisters? That sounds like a show on Bravo :-)

Now where else can you hear Jem, Elvis Costello, and the Andrews Sisters in the same set? This is why I'm addicted to Radio Paradise!
I love this station.

this is a good one.
the mind can't grasp the lack of irony..weren't the andrews sisters stars during ww2 ?
The Andrews Sister's version of this isn't my favorite, but it's still one of the best songs to dance to to! \:D/

By no stretch can this be called "rock".
It's indeed more roll than rock, but, like Keith Richards said, 'todays music is too much rock and too little roll'. One of the reasons why I like this golden oldie
Translates closer to: "To me you are beautiful/pretty"...

Does this really translate: "With me already are you"? When did this song come out? World War II seems like bad timing for German-based lyrics.
German, not really. Actually this is the popularized Anglicized version of the original Yiddish song. Klezmer rules!

Yup, that says it.
Tasty!

it may not be rock, but it sure is swing ;) thanks!
Yes... this is swell!
Reminds me of early 1950's black & white cartoons with dancing cigarette packs. Not a real pleasant memory.

Excellent. There was a lot of great music produced in the first half of the century.

Many hep comments for the ultimate hep tune. Bill, how did you decide to spin this one? One of my favorite "Dad singing in the shower" songs! Totally cool.

Great song!!!! Their harmonies are mind blowing.
Yeaaaaahh. Love those Andrew Sisters. What a nice change from the norm on RP.
Excellent Choice! The Andrews Sisters (and, actually, Zarah Leander, who originally performed this song) are almost the only non-rock records in my collection.
**sigh** I just love this.
Great song!!!! Their harmonies are mind blowing.
it may not be rock, but it sure is swing ;) thanks!
By no stretch can this be called \"rock\".
Great throwing this in!
i love it. More!
What Incredible harmonies. Even if you don\'t care for the music, you have to admire the talent!
This worked just fine in the RP mix. Good job. Reminds me that some Big Band would sound good in Paradise(thinking especially of Ellington\'s Blanton-Webster recordings from the 40\'s).

This cracks me up!

Now I\'m in the mood to hear the Sisters Andrew with Bing doing \"Accentuate the Positive.\" --AJ
Is this my dad\'s Radio Paradise?
Very cool. Now that\'s eclectric.
Nice surprise on RP! Glad to see the title in print. I always thought the name of the song was \"My Dear Mister Shane.\"
I hate to say it, Bill...but this is the equivalent of me putting NEIL DIAMOND on a similar type of station (it\'s one of my guilty pleasures).
That one must get played again
Awesome! I love it!
