A mother sings a lullaby to a child
Sometime in the future the boy goes wild
And all his nerves are feeling some kind of energy
A walk in the woods and I will try
Something under the trees that made you cry
It's so erotic when your make-up runs
I got wiring loose inside my head
I got books that I never ever read
I got secrets in my garden shed
I got a scar where all my urges bled
I got people underneath my bed
I got a place where all my dreams are dead
Swim with me into your blackest eyes
A few minutes with me inside my van
Should be so beautiful if we can
I'm feeling something taking over me
I got wiring loose inside my head
I got books that I never ever read
I got secrets in my garden shed
I got a scar where all my urges bled
I got people underneath my bed
I got a place where all my dreams are dead
Swim with me into your blackest eyes

The penultimate of modern progressive rock!
JAM! I love how the creative, stunning rhythm changes this band pulls off so well always makes me want to get out and jam my old Rush and King Crimson

That track, my friends, is 20 minutes too f'ing short.
Oh HELL yes. So glad to hear this on Radio Paradise.
I don't recall having heard this here.
Now I've HEARD it. Or most of it.
Isn't there a repeat button somewhere here?
Hint.
That's a monster track. Jaysus. Make my ears bleed, please.

I bought this CD. Didn't like it, so I sent it to a fan in Norway. I've been regreting that move ever since.
Dude better learn how to whang bang those drums.
Man! Thunder!
Man! Thunder!
Great song from a great group. This may be the highest rated YET least played song on R.P.
Why?
Why?
Now it has been over 7 years!! This is a great tune!! Please put it back in rotation!
Why is it that this excellent song hasn't been played for over 4 years now? Is it maybe too heavy? It scores about 1.5 point more than many tracks that are in heavy rotation on RP though...

Oh if they could only re-issue Stupid Dream my life would be complete.
Thanks guys on RP.
Both Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun are "supposed" to be re-issued after the release of P-T's next CD "Deadwing" due in March or April 2005.
If you can't wait, there is always E-Bay.

Thanks guys on RP.
It's because stations like RP play this and the lame over-the-air Top 40 stations don't that commercial radio is dying. In 10 years satellite radio and Internet radio will be the powerhouses that cable news stations like CNN and Fox are today.
Thanks, Bill!

This band is great! Thanks Bill and Rebecca for bringing them to us. We would NEVER hear this band on corporate radio.
Indeed the sort of music which corporate radio more and more used to put away somewhere late in the evening, when nobody listened except the target group. I don't listen to those stations anymore and doubt if they play it at all, nowadays.
This album is pure brilliance.
The 5.1 mix is even better.
Very nice! I like bands that can stretch from soft to a harder edge, all in one song.
Nothing like the growl of an electric guitar!
???? I don't understand the hype about this band ??????
:-k
Sounds like 3 or 4 songs cut together and not particularly well either.
I just don't get it I guess.

Yes! The best track on the album.
:)
Is that suppossed to be good?
My new fave band. Absolutely AMAZING. Every album, every song. They don\'t make bad songs. Not a single one. They should be huge.
good stuff ;)

Porcupine Tree meets Rush. Fine.
I too have to thank RP for turning me on to this album. This is in my opinion the best song on the album. The rest of it is very good also.
I bought "In Absentia" after hearing "The Sound Of Muzak" on Paradise (yes, I clicked through to Amazon :-)) and was initially disappointed that the rest of the album wasn't as good.
However, I kept it at work for a couple of weeks and it has really grown on me. The first four tracks are great...
Voices distract from the great guitar work, but I like it.
I hadn\'t looked to see if this had been uploaded.. but was looking back on the playlist and saw *THIS* here.... cool!!
I too have recently purchased the album thanks again bill ;) :D
But seriously.. the first four tracks are really good, so is track 8, the rest of the album is decenty.. there may be one song I don\'t care for.. but all in all a better album than some I\'ve purchased in the past decade!
Another great track from what\'s become my favorite recent album purchase. (I\'m another old 40-something coot.) And I owe it all to RP. Thanks Bill and Rebecca!
I absolutely love the way it hits you in the face. Best new album this year!
If this song doesn\'t prove Porcupine Tree to be the equal of the all time greats like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, then nothing but time and nostalgia will. F-ing awesome. And I\'m 47 years old.
My 2nd favorite from the album. In Absentia is truely a masterpiece.
Edit: To truely appreciate this album, you need to listen to it from start to finish in order. The pacing and transition from one track to the next is astonishing, and draws you into the music.
Yes! The best track on the album.
:)
