As I lay upon my bed, I begin dreaming
Of how it's gonna be the day that I am free
Once I settle like the dust upon the table
But then you came along
You helped me write this song
I don't know what day it is,
I can't recall the seasons
And I don't remember how we got this far
All I know is I'm loving you for all the right reasons
In my sky you'll always be my morning star
Like a tired bird flying high across the ocean
I was outside looking in
You made me live again
From the mountains to the prairies little babies
Figures fill their heads
Visions bathed in red
I don't know what day it is,
I can't recall the seasons
And I don't remember how we got this far
All I know is I'm loving you for all the right reasons
In my sky you'll always be my morning star
From the train in Manchester, England
Lightning fills the sky
As I watched you wave goodbye
From the mountains to the prairie little babies
Figures fill their heads
Visions bathed in red
I don't know what day it is,
I can't recall the seasons
And I don't remember how we got this far

They're not nearly as good without Mark Olson.

Classic. I hope you settled on this one for the ceremony. Of course, "for those about to rock" is almost obligatory at the reception... along with "Big Balls" for that matter.
Wishing your well in your 2nd/3rd(?) year of marital bliss.
This is mine and BFs song....
I mention it to him about potentially playing during the ceremony of our (future) wedding. He listens to it, intently and then says "yes.... this one... OR.... let me play one for you!" Of course, I'm in the moment and thinking he's really thought of something great to play... it turns out to be ACDC "For those about to Rock... we salute you".
REALLY?! Boys.

It´s simple and it´s beautiful, thanks.
I already loved this song when I saw Gary Louris and Mark Olson in a small club in Sydney earlier this year. I was standing 4 feet from Louris at the merch table after the show when he spontaneously started singing it accapella as a request for a couple who were about to get married. It was one of the most magical music moments I've ever been lucky enough to witness.
This is a great love song for sure.

Y'all can slam Gary Louris all you want, and maybe "All The Right Reasons" is too sentimental by half, but, dadgummit, there's something right about that album.

I played and sang this song with my guitar for my wife during our wedding reception during the dance. One of the most surreal moments of my life, then my Phil uncle shouted: "You're goona get lucky tonight!". Quite the experience, she was crying and smiling at the same time. I think I subtituted Rice Lake, WI for Manchester to make it more fitting. Music and great song writing are wonderful.
Rice Lake, Wisconsin for Manchester, England...hey that fits nicely. Well done.

Great idea. My unsolicited advice, if she doesn't want to, don't push it. Let her do whatever SHE wants on HER day, as it typically means more to the bride, anyway. However, I'm impressed that you want to participate in the planning, and she (hopefully) will embrace your ideas.

Its lyrics aren't maybe meant for that so much, but this song can have a comforting effect.

I know the song is sappy - - BUT it strikes right home as to how I feel about my wife of 14 years.
Songs with 'Little babies' in them irk me. Sorry.
I like the song, despite/because of the sap factor, but isn't it getting a little overplayed? haven't been able to listen too often in the last couple of weeks, but have heard this lots.>
