A soul mate of mine used to live in the room next to mine and he was, and is, the sort of person that, when they find out they love a band or an album or a song, play it ad lib for days, weeks, months on end, and nothing else  This is how I came to be highly allergic to Brian Molko's voice. Really, really, REALLY just can't stand it for longer than a minute. Have always enjoyed their music though, especially the unmistakably Placebo guitar riffs. And the soul mate is still a soul mate

Placebo filled some kind of void in my library I didn't realize I had when they first came out. I didn't like everything they did, but the stuff I did I really really liked. Happy to hear them here on RP. In all these years I can't recall hearing them here before. 

BTW, they do a brilliantly outstanding cover of "Running Up That Hill".

I love it. Have liked the band since first hearing Nancy Boy. I like Rush too, but beyond the vocal range there is litttle base for comparison.

This sounds as good as it did in 2005. Good groove too. They are a fine band live. A solid 8.5

What a problem we have! A lot of fanatic Rush fans, or should I say Geddy Lee fans... If this is not your style, just don't piss off... You are more trying elevate Geddy Lee than comment about the damned Placebo's Single. A lot of melancholy, I liked the lyrics the keyboards and piano really gave an interesting atmosphere. I can give a 8 for this.

Placebo is an amazing band, I own all of their regular cd releases. While their self-titled album is my least favorite of their, the other three, Without You I'm Nothing, Black Market Music, and Sleeping ghosts are some excellent pieces of music. I had the chance to see them in concert over the summer of 2003 in L.A. and I must say that it was an amazing event to see. They put on a very good live show, and their music was actually a little harder, which turned out to be all for the best. If any of you get the chance, I recommend seeing them in concert, definately worth it.

I find this song is growing on me (sorry, NWG). This is the first song by Placebo I've ever heard to my knowledge, although I'd heard of the band. The singer's voice isn't that grating, and I like the bass line. FWIW.

perhaps as one recently bereaved I heard this for the first time, and the voice brought back pet shop boys and smiths and "all you Pretty Things, driving your poor mothers and fathers insane", and what came After. Sleeping with Ghosts: indeed.
